What has been your experience trading up with Whiteflash? Is it as easy, convenient and hassle free as it seem from their homepage? Thanks.

Mara, Jellybean, sjz are the first ones to come to mind. I''m sure they will chime in to give you their experience but I believe it was just as easy as WF claims. Jellybean''s done it a couple of times

Yes, I have to admit I''ve traded up twice within 3 months! Pretty sad! But now I have my dream stone so no more trade ups for me!

It was pretty hassle free. The only thing they did was deduct the shipping amount (around $30) from your trade in to apply to the new stone. For example, if you paid $1000 for your diamond then your trade in value is $970. I of course had to pay the $15 for sending the ring back each time via USPS Registered Mail, and harder part was waiting for the new ring!

They were also great in letting me put a stone on hold for a couple of days while I made a decision on it. No pressure at all.

I wouldn''t think twice about trading up with them.

Yup, I agree with Jellybean. Pretty hassle free. I''ve traded up stones a couple of times already, and swapped out settings once. Every time was easy. I''ve worked with Bob for the most part, and he''s great!

I''ve traded up with them too....they just send you a return authorization and you ship back via USPS -- return product/grading reports. That simple.

Yep you ship back the stone and all paperwork on it that you got with your RA # on the package, they get the stone and inspect it to ensure that it is in the same condition as when they sold it to you (aka no big chunk missing from the girdle or anything) and then they credit your value towards your next purchase. It''s pretty painless!

I have to add...there is ONE painful part...waiting for your upgrade to be shipped! LOL! Both times I''ve upgraded, it took around 2 weeks or more for me to get my ring back. I know that part of the reason was that it took 3 or 4 days for them to get my ring via USPS, and that they had to wait for the appraiser to be present to open the package and inspect my return, and wait for the jeweler to be available to reset the new stone, and so forth and so on...so I''m not really complaining, but it KILLS to be waiting and waiting with a naked finger...LOL! I am waiting right now for my most recent upgrade and I wish I was Rip Van Winkle and could just go to sleep for a few days, and be able to go to the FedEX office as soon as I wake up and get my package already!!!

my last upgrade took about a week total before it was back in my hot little hands. no way would 2-3 weeks work for me! i also cut out the 3-4 days for USPS and sent it UPS.

Mara,

I thought that WF didn''t accept anything to be sent back other than by USPS? Did you have some special arrangements with WF?

I think that I''ve always just had poor timing when I decide to do my upgrades. This time, the designer who makes my setting is out of town or something, and won''t be back until later this week, so I won''t get my ring back until next week. I think the designer is the one who has to set the stone, but I''m not sure on that fact. I shipped my ring back right before we went on vacation, and they got it the day we left. We were gone for over a week, so that 10 days went by pretty fast. I''m just hoping to get through this week without having too much diamond withdrawal...lol. It''s not like I don''t have other rings to wear in the meantime, cuz I do. But I am anxious to see the new stone in my ring, dang it...lol!

Mara,
I wondered that too. I thought WF would only accept items via USPS.

Normally they do only accept USPS, but I begged and pleaded and they accepted my UPS shipment...though they do feel as many others do that USPS is safer.
