All,

I recently purchased a 2.0 carat, G, VS2, AGS000 engagement ring from Whiteflash. I had an excellent experience from start to finish and would highly recommend them.

I want to especially thank Traci. Traci helped me find the ideal stone, answered my many, many emails, and was supportive and patient throughout my search process. Thank you, Traci.

Oooh - can we see pictures?

Thanks for your experience.

I second the pic suggestion!

Wow, I''m jealous... Can''t wait to get the pics (supposed to be finished this Friday) of the ering I ordered from WF! I share your high opinions of WF and had a great experience dealing with them.

That is SO BEAUTIFUL!! More pics needed! The color and clarity are amazing and you can''t get better than AGS000. You must be thrilled. I echo your feelings about WF. They are a great company. Brian Gavin over there really knows his diamonds. The whole team over there is just great. I felt really lucky to get to work with them.

BTW, we recently had a post of a Tiffany from WF posted in Show Me the Ring? Was that you? If not, PLEASE head over to the Show Me the Ring page and upload more pictures of your ring! So many people would love to see it. It isn''t often we come across a 2.00 carat diamond with the cut, color, and clarity of yours! Beautiful!

Here''s another thumbs up for Traci & WhiteFlash. Pleasure to work with.

(mini threadjack...sorry tanthalaas).

Hey Isabelle!

Lesley at WF says to say hello!! We''re in the process of making my sapphire/cluster ring and we got to talking about PS and your name came up! (only good things were said!).

LS

p.s. to the OP: my experience to date has been extremely positive. I am in the ''design'' stage of a custom setting. So far, so great!

one thing i''m interested to hear about is how many design iterations most people needed. I know on the website it says "for large enough changes, another $250 deposit will apply". Has anyone done multiple design iterations and did they charge you that fee?

Gorgeous, gorgeous ring! It''s pretty much my ultimate dream ring! Good luck on the proposal!

I think you''re referring to a friend of mine''s ring (Dee), a 2.0 ct. F, VS2, AGS0 AND quadruple Excellent on the HCA in the knife edge setting.

Denver, this is a great question.

I can''t speak for any other custom designer; at Whiteflash, our CAD deposit is fairly nominal because we anticipate that people will come with a fairly definitive idea of what they want. With good communication, many CADs are ready to go to production from the initial rendering. We will allow up to one additional rendering for a major change and one additional rendering for minor changes at no additional charge.

Most custom work can be done within these parameters. We don''t want anyone to settle a design they aren''t 100% happy with, though, so we will provide additional renderings if needed but at additional cost. This covers our elevated labor costs and costs incurred through disrupting the production schedule for additional renderings.

In my consumer days, I worked on five custom pieces. Three of the five required only the initial rendering; minor changes I wanted in those instances were well understood and didn''t require additional renderings. On both of the remaining pieces, the change I made affected the proportions of each piece and second renderings were made.

I''ve been very satisfied with the custom process. I''ve found the keys to having a good custom experience are: 1) good communication between the CAD team and the customer and 2) do your homework and know fairly well what you want before you get to the CAD phase.

It''s also important to understand that changing one thing about a design can affect the overall look/proportions of a design. If you choose larger melee, for example, they will sit up a bit higher because larger stones are deeper. If the piece you saw as inspiration was a size 4 ring and you wear a size 7, the aesthetic look of the piece may be different. Knowing these things up front can also help you better anticipate what you want and create more satisfaction around the custom process.

I hope all this is helpful.
