Okay I feel like I had seen a thread on this on here before but cant find it again so if someone smarter than me can point me to it please do.

My problem is for some reason the whiteflash site does not work from my home ISP, it works at my work so I know the site is up. And I have even been able to get it work going thru a proxy redirecting website.

Has anyone else had these problems? And was there a solution. When I do a trace from me to the Whiteflash site it gets almost to the site and then fails. I have called my ISP and they claim the problem is not theirs (the girl on the tech support phone was even able to get to the site from her computer.).

Thanks

Can you get to an "inside" page like : http://www.whiteflash.com/diamond-education/diamond_hearts-effect.aspx

Do you have a "modern" broswer (IE 5.5 or 6 era, or Firefox) ?

Not sure why you would get "close". Try disabling firewalls or lowering browser security settings.

Yes I have Firefox, and no whiteflash.com links work (not even to like a diamond you might find from the pricescope search).

I even did a trace rout and it gets all the way to the server right before the whiteflash.com site then fails.

I seem to have found a site http://www.wholesalediamonds.biz which looks like another whiteflash site and that one works for me. Am I right in thinking this is just another portal into whiteflash?

Hi MacK

That old site does not provide accurate product/policy info. WF once sold diamonds to jewelry stores as well as the public, but we don't do business under those auspices anymore. You get an A for research and discovery though

www.whiteflash.com loads for me on IE, Safari and Netscape. I don't have firefox so cannot check it. I'm sorry you can't load the site.

Perhaps try page with default.

If this still fails you can try clearing your cache memory/browser history. Beyond that it might be a router problem with your ISP, which can clear up later in the day (this has happened before).

If the problem persists, please let me know here or via PM and Monday our computer jedi will look at it from our side.

It should clear up within 48 hours when the router with the bad routing table refreshes.

It has been happening alot lately with some major disconnects on the backbone level that will work its way down the chain before it clears.

Could be a bad dns cache also.

What ip address is it showing for www.whiteflash.com ?

69.7.190.23 is the IP I am getting for Whiteflash.

And yes I keep hoping it will clear but it has been this way for the past week.

So who knows monday is a new week maybe something will happen.

Here is a copy of the Trace Rout when I run it:

Tracing route to www.whiteflash.com [69.7.190.23]

Thanks for the help John, and Denise was nice enough to email me info and pictures.

I also found a way to route around my problem with a place called www.idzap.com so I can now go to links on the site (just can''t do searches) but pricescope is helping out on that end. So at least a workable fix for now.

Thanks all for the suggestions

yep bad routing table at the hosting company it looks like or a bad router.

I thought it was just me. I have also been having problems for at least a week. Never any problems b4 and nothing has changed with my computer. I tried clearing everything, using IE instead of netscape but I still cannot get on.

It happens to me too. At first, I thought WF has been updating their Web site, so we couldn''t get in just for a short period of time.
