And Good Old Gold ... David sent me a paint by sticker book with the setting I ordered because I’m a complainer and complained about being stuck at home waiting for hip replacement. Who does that??? Good Old Gold does that! Thank you!!!

Nope! I’m hoping for really soon now but have given up guessing to maintain my health, lol. But I also got flowers from Whiteflash because my daughter isn’t well ... I have never had a vendor be so thoughtful!!!

Oh thank you for asking! After a bit of hassle with customs (I’m in Canada), I was able to pick it up on Tuesday! I haven’t got any great pictures yet .... I put the glam shots on “the two week club.” Life has been a bit too busy for me to be on the forum much lately.

I did find the process agonizing, but Whiteflash was outstanding as always, and I am blown away by the diamond and the ring!

When I have more time, I hope to post some more pictures and comments.

Thank you to Magen, Bryan, Vera, and all the Whiteflash team, for putting up with me and for making it possible for me to own such a beauty ... all done “above and beyond” what is necessary from a vendor.

I don’t want to forget David of Good Old Gold, who did such a fantastic job with the setting, also surprising me with thoughtfulness that seems so absent in today’s impersonal internet world.

Who would think that, in the process of buying a diamond, I would find myself reassured that there are still good people in the world?

Thanks again all! Also to the PS bunch for all the info and advice!!!

I was hoping for table size around 55 but it’s 56.4 ... however, as someone pointed out though, this really is a very small difference in table size. I am in love with it. At D VVS2, it’s not just mind-clean, it’s mind-thrilling, lol. So here’s two pictures (not great because no picture can do justice, as you know) of the gorgeous 1.716 carat ACA, no fluorescence (confirmed by cutter, WF, and me), in a Stuller floral setting with F color full-cut and H&A (on the band) melee.

I really love it!!!

It looks beautiful! A D color, VVS Clarity stone is something to behold! You sound thrilled and that makes the whole thing perfect.

Hi @Sandeek! I am more than happy to share with you ... I first saw the setting as posted by @icy-jade ... ironically, it seemed a bit of a temporary setting for her, but I fell in love with it. It keeps the solitaire profile, with a floral theme that has small diamonds on the edges of the flower petals. It is very light - only 2 mm shank. Stuller has many options for the melee. Stuller does not sell settings retail - you need to source through.a jeweller - I got mine through Good Old Gold before finding out that Whiteflash (my diamond vendor) could have also sourced the setting for me (oops). It was $1,300 for platinum and F colour H&A melee ...

Also ... I had a 7.7 mm diamond set in the 7.4 mm head ... the next size up is 8 mm head. When icy-jade posted her pic, I noticed that her 2 carat was slightly bigger than the setting was designed for ... this leads to the diamond sitting slightly higher, making the petals a bit less prominent, but leaving the floral profile around the main diamond. I loved the look of the slightly too big diamond in the setting ... a bit of a different look from the Stuller site video. I hope that makes sense. If you see the Stuller site and the sample video of setting with diamond, you will see the petals are much more dominant - this is just due to the diamond vs setting head size.

I love the setting as a solitaire alternative. It gives just a bit more interest - bordering solitaire and halo.

Mine is not an engagement ring ... I have ordered two matching wedding bands with alternating diamonds and coloured stones ... the wedding bands are expected to sit flush as they are indicated as matching on the Stuller site ... should arrive the first week of May ... for me, this will give a bit more thickness to the shank and give it less of a bridal look on my middle finger
