If anyone know about white gold? Need advise.

This is the first time I purchased White gold. Bought 18carat white gold for e-ring, after a few weeks I notice the white gold not as shiny, look dull,is this command for white gold because I use it everyday even when I''m washing a dished? And Am I suppose to re-coated again after a few years?

Thanks for help

Gold is yellow. White gold is slightly yellow. You can RHODIUM plate it to make it look more like platinum, or you can enjoy the warm hue of the white gold.

If you decide to rhodium plate it, you will have to have it replated on occasion. This could be every month or two or every year or two, depending on your body''s chemistry, how much you wear it, and how much you care if the naturally warm tone of the white gold bothers you.

Don''t wear the white gold in the pool, it doesn''t like chlorine!

A temporary "cure" for this is to buy a jewelry/metal cleaning cloth. It will remove oxidation in between professional cleanings, polishing, and re-rhodium plating. Check www.kassoy.com for jewelry items like this.

Note: If your washing dishes the diamonds will get soap scum on them, making them look lifeless. Rinse the ring thoroughly, or soak overnight in a small jar of isopropyl alcohol. Kassoy sells those jars with a fancy net thing in them, but a baby food jar will work equally as well if you don''t mind putting you fingers in to fish out the ring.

AN ultrasonic cleaner/ steamer will be better - but the above should help.

Is it white colored in general? If so, then you might just want to try cleaning your rings. It might be dull because it''s dirty. If it''s slightly warm in color, then it needs a rhodium plating.

Thanks people, this is really help me. I Will clean it.
Can you actually tell the different if its 10carat/14 carat/18 carat white gold by the color?

SanDiegoLady,
Yep odd, I get the ring a few weeks ago. It was shiny at the begining. Compare with 1 of my friend white gold that she wore over a year, make mine look bad.

I will clean it and see what happen - finger cross.
