Hi everyone,
so we got a total budget of 4500 maximum for my new e ring. I think ive decided on a 3 stone setting with a nice shared prong diamond band.
So the setting is $1995 inc 2 .25 ACA diamonds and you chose your own centre stone which we were thinking .595 H VS2 ACA. So this brings us to budget.
Our second option is $1695 for the setting including .15ct ACA side stones and same sort of diamond possibly a G though, again with in budget.
Or do we go .2ct side stones.
For refferance my finger is size 5.5 and im thinking 7 .07 stones in the wedding band. What sort of stones & ratio would be the better option do you think ? :) ta x

does it have to be from whiteflash??

Hi not really, i just thought their price was competitive for their stones and they have been the nicest to work with out of 3 vendors i have emailed so far. My only problem is that setting costing $1095 :O it seems expensive but i do love it a lot

Oh OK. Well that's understandable, but I've seen idjewelry do wonders on a budget.... and they look beautiful. There's one specific three stone in thinking of, I'll try and find the link.

Are you happy with the size? Because you could get larger stones foe your budget. My 5 stone with. 83/.32/.15 from James Allen is made with Ks and at that size they are very white. , and cost under your budget. So I think you can get much larger if you just look for unbranded AGS 000 or gia XXX stones in lower colors.

James Allen might be a good one to contact too.... they were super helpful with me trying to get exactly what u wanted in my tight budget.

I'll be back with the idj link

Here it is, I'd ask if it could be done with Pricescope quality j-k stones.

Or I'd try to work with James Allen. I know this setting can be done with diamonds of your choice instead, and the setting would be less because this price includes the sapphires as well.... honestly they were amazing to work with and I had a tighter budget than you. :wavey:

Wholey fudgenuts neil thank you so much for that link! That is the ring we want its so beautiful. Size wise um... i dunno id go up to a .75 centre stone but no higher. Can you recomend a JA sales assistant ? I have spoken with one about another possible ring and when i gave then my wishes they sent me back some reccomendations which were rubbish i was a bit disapointed. Im going to check out the vendor of that ring. Its a beauty! And i think id go down on budget before going up on size for now. Also i like white flash's life time trade in policy :) this ring will eventually go to my daughter who is almost 1 haha by the time she gets it i want it to be amazing

Are you planning on wearing the three stone ring and the diamond band together? I would recommend making sure the two rings nest or stack against each other.

I know what you mean. I first contacted them with a request for a custom piece and they just brushed me off. No idea why sense they say they will make you anything.... but I worked with Jillian and she were beyond amazing. I believe by the time my ring was finished we had 80 emsils between us. They might even be able to copy that idj one for a gold price. My 5 stone custom setting from them was amazinly cheap, cheaper than any already made piece I was finding from WF or BG....

With that size you could probably keep it around an I range even, with 25 or 30 point sides? That would be beautiful....

They have an upgrade poll too, but you'd have to read about it.

Diamond i will probably get a spacer but i will cross that bridge when i get to it. 12 months or so lol :)

for now its all about the E Ring. So i think i dont have as much knowledge as a lot of you and im possibly paying too much or getting unecessary specs or something at the moment. I mean the cheaper we can get it the better cos if im being honest 2k of that budget is being financed :/ not idealy what we planned but i just really cant not have a beautiful 3 stone with gorgeous cut stomes amd heaps of sparkle. Id rather pay the premium to know im getting stones that look like the ring you posted a link too. But hey if i can go down a bit amd it still take my breath away oki! Im soo keen. P.s im not usually this poor at spelling but its 1am and im typing on my phone cant be bothered going back to correct it lol .

Don't worry. I'm notorious for my terrible typing.
If your on a budget, I'd drop in color....at the size you are looking at they won't be as noticeable

Here is mine. The kne on my ring finger is most accurate most of the time, the one on my thumb is the absolute most tinted I ever see it, and that's because the walls are a key lime pie color, and the stone soaks up that color...so its more surroundings than the stone. But I feel like it gives you a good idea of the stone.

Oki doki i will go back and look at dropping color. My only concern is if i go through whiteflash the side stones are f/g so for my centre stone im frightened to drop to even an I due to noticable colour difference

Valid concern. I believe they will drop your side stones to match your center if you ask.

I like a lot of size difference between the center and the sides, so I would go with .2 sides.

I also think smaller than .07s for the wedding band. .03s, .05 would be the max I would do.

Absolutely agree. In fact, for now, I would wear a plain metal band with the three stone ring and put every penny into the e-ring. I love WF diamonds and would use them for the ring. But I would have them change the side stones to J color and hopefully that might reduce the price of the setting a bit.

The wedding band is not factored in to this budget. :) we will be buying it in 12 months and possibly upgrading the centre stone to .75/.8
we want to start with .6ish so i can get a feel for size, have room to upgrade and allow for shrinkage. I definately dont see myself going over .8 im a small girl and in a town with the highest unemployment rate that thing would stand out like crazy if i went 1 ct +. Ive tried on 1cts and i dont like it on me. In which case im thinking stick with .25 sides and buy a diamond that allows for upgrade. I def will check out those other stones though :D if i know me im probably gonna want some sort of upgrade down the track lol

Honestly if you plan on upgrading in a year I don't think getting a three stone now is a good idea. You're sinking 1/4th of your budget into a setting you won't be able to use. Get as big a stone you can now, upgrade to the 3 stone in a year, instead of upgrading the stone.

If you plan to upgrade in a year or so, then buy a .7 in a simple setting for 2500, or whatever amount you can spend without financing. Later, upgrade your center and setting at the same time.

Good call I forgot about the financing part.
