I thought I'd post regarding the diamond and setting. After going through iterations and iteration all over the web, I finally went with Yekutiel's recommendation on a diamond.

Here are the specs of the diamond I chose:

HCA/Carat/Clarity/Color/Cut/Polish/Symmetry/Table/Depth/PA/CA
1.8/1.3/VS1/G/EX/EX/EX/57/61.8/34.5/41

The setting I chose is a Vatche felicity, I was initially against a Cathedral but liked the low profile of this and went for it. I especially like the six prong and the basket. It also felt like the diamond would be safer in this setting than many others that I was looking at. The pics attached are of a stock photo and not my diamond.

Oh my! that is gorgeous! I love the thin band and the vatche details on the prong! Very nice choice - time passes so slowly when you are excited! Looking forward to the SMTB thread and a LOT of hand shots!!
