Hi everyone,

I have finally decided to buy my stone from WF. The deciding factor was my liking of their 6 prong Tiffany knife edge. BlueNile currently has more stone offerings for my specs, but BN settings do not interest me.

WF rep has suggested the following stones for me. Which stone is offering best value for the money? I orginally was only interested in G-H color with VS2, but I am now okay with going down to G-I color with VS2-SI1. I am trying to keep cost within 10K-12K for stone + setting. I would prefer not to pay the premium for ACA... hopefully I can find a good deal with your help. Are there any stones I can eliminate right away?

Stones #5 and #6 do not have crown and pavilion angle info, I would need to ask WF.

I would pick #4, but thats just my 2 cents. I definitely wouldnt pick #3 if I were buying. But, then again I''m not buying :). I just purchased my stone from WF. What I would do is narrow it down to about 3 or 4 stones and then call them and ask them to pull the stones if they are in house and ask what their opinion is by seeing them in person. That is what I did. Good luck.

As you know more info is needed for the last two, the first four look good, check with WF which of the SI grades are eyeclean to your standards in order to begin the selection process.

1st one is out of budget.

2,3,4 are all good and within a few hundred of each other.
Since 3 is the cheapest as long as its eye-clean to your satisfaction it wins.

If ~$600 is a deal breaker then checking to see if #6 is ags0 would be a start.

There isn''t enough information on 5.
At least need a copy of the report to see if it was worth calling in.

Hi guys,

What do you think of this stone? Do the numbers look good? Should I be concerned about the red markings on the diagram on the GIA report?

The price seems a bit low compared to what I've been seeing for G VS2... so I'm a bit apprehensive.

This one has great potential and no concerns regarding the red markings on the plotting diagram.

Thank you for your feedback. I am waiting to hear back on availability of the stone. If it is still available, I will ask for images from WF.

Sounds good, keep us posted and load the images when you get them

Hi everyone,

I''m still waiting on availability of the most recent stone I posted above. In case that one falls through, I would like your input on the following stones. Which one (or two) do you think is the best one you think I should call in? Thank you. By the way, I have tightened up my criteria for color... I am now only considering minimum of G.

#15 (this one is ACA.. Ideal scope & Aset images shows a black dot in the middle.. is that a problem?)

There are 7 other stones that are G VS2 in the price range of 12K-13K. My ideal stone would be a G VS2. But I would need to stretch my budget a bit for any of those 7. I may do that in order to avoid buyer''s remorse :-)

What are your thoughts on G VS2 vs. G SI1 ?

Do you think it is worth the premium price and buy the ACA stone #15 or should I put in a bit more time and buy a non-ACA which is G VS2?

I am clearly having analysis paralysis. I told myself I would pick a stone within 1-2 weeks... hopefully I can pick one soon.

11, 12 and 14 are virtual stones and not enough info to tell anything about them, WF would have to find out more to see if any of these were worth calling in. Number 13 really needs an Idealscope image to check it out.

The ACA looks great, the little dots are probably an inclusion which is reflecting around the arrows, ask WF to check that for you and if the diamond is eyeclean. If you would prefer G VS ask WF what they can recommend, they might have another in house diamond which might suit you.
