Which WF diamond?

Hello all,

I think I'm close in selecting the center stone for the engagement ring but I'm still a novice in looking at ASET and Ideal Scope patterns so I'm hoping you PSers can steer me in the right direction!

Center stone to be mounted on a three stone setting (roughly .50ctw baguettes).

specs:
Round Brilliant
1.5 - 1.8 carat
Color G - H
Clarity VS2 - SI1
Ideal/Excellent cut
Max budget of $22k

out of the ones you listed I would probably pick the 1.6 H VS2 (if you are concerned about inclusions)

You can pick 2/3 stones and ask WF to talk you through them. The gemologist will tell you what they see. I would be
temped to go with size as long as eye-clean and the gemologist said that its a well rounded stone (no pun intended ).

I do like the 1.628 H&A ACA diamond but one thing that worries me is the 61.7% depth. Plugging the diamond into the HCA brings back a score of 1.4, most of the weakness likely attributed to the spread of the diamond.

1.628 with measurements of 7.54x7.56x4.65mm; does that look off? Am I looking too much into this HCA rating?

yes. the HCA does not matter when you have IS images/ASET images. the HCA is just based on 4 numbers, while the IS/ASET are images of the actual diamond.

It looks great, I would definitely reserve it. 61.7 depth is NOT too large at all for a RB.

light leakage is in line with other RB diamonds?

From my limited research, black/white and to a certain extent green is bad in ASET - it does look like lots of green and dark shades of blue. Thoughts on this?

yes. the HCA does not matter when you have IS images/ASET images. the HCA is just based on 4 numbers, while the IS/ASET are images of the actual diamond.

Agreed. With a great ASET, IDEALSCOPE,and HCA of 1.4 you don't need to worry.

What is everyone's thoughts on this one? The price is attractive and ASET/IS images look comparable. Will depend where the inclusions are on the diamond itself though - this might worry me.

that one also looks great. you can ask WF about the inclusions or you could get it shipped to you before getting it set.

I would put diamonds that you are considering on hold...several posters have been considering diamonds only to find that they are gone the next day! there is no obligation to buy

The 1.526 would be my choice out of the 4. I doubt the feathers will be noticeable in person as they are barely visible on the images.

Can anyone help with regards to what the dark mineral bits represent in the diagonal dark lines in the H&A photo? From speaking with Bob he indicated that the diamond was eye clean even to 6 inches although he didn't have the diamond in front of him - merely from his recollection. Inclusions are really the only thing which is worrying me at this point.
