I love the look of tapered side stones (bead set, most likely), but I''m not sure which direction I want them to taper. They could start small at the center stone and get bigger, or start big and get smaller down the shank. Which way makes the center stone look biggest? For reference, the side stones would come up like a cathedral setting.

I''ve seen a lot of fabulous halo settings with the big to small taper, but since I''m not getting a halo I''m not sure how it would look.

I hope I''m posting on the right board and thanks for your help!

I have seen both, and I feel like the scenario in which the baguettes taper from center --> out makes the diamond look bigger as a whole. That means narrow to wide starting at center. The other scenario would make the diamond POP more, kind of like how the e-ring bands go in and out do.

What about if the side stones were RBs? Do you think the same theory would apply?
