Which types of settings turn the least on your finger (1 or 1.5 carat stone)? Do split shanks (the ones that are two bands till way back) turn less than single shanks? Do cathedral settings turn more as there is more weight at the top?

I know about shots (the two gold balls placed in the band to stabilize it and always get them).

Your ideas?

Thanks.

Euro shanks turn less. Instead of being round, they are somewhat squarish, with the top of the shank being rounded, more straight between the fingers, and squared off at the bottom. Google and you should find some examples.

ETA: Verragio has Euro shanks in its Euro collection, you can kind of see these from the pictures.

I'm having a european shank ring made now. They are not as easily sizable as the round shank which is something to keep in mind.

This will be my second euro shank....so I can recommend it for holding a ring in place on the finger especially if it is a bit top heavy. You didn't ask

but if you're going to get your ring custom made then I also suggest making the ring comfort fit along with the euro....makes the ring so smooth and comfortable and also helps it to stay put on the finger.

thanks

very nice, will try
