Hi there, there are many different girdle description (GIA) extremely thin, very thin, thin, med, sllightly thick, thick, very thick, extremely thick. Can I know which is the most prefered girdle? What about girdlle percentage? should I go for 3.0%, 3.5% or 4.0%? Will it result in any visual differences? tks in advance

thin to medium is the sweet spot for many as is thin to slightly thick, the main thing is to avoid extremes such as thin to thick, very thin unless you have a trusted vendor inspecting the very thin area whom can assure you it isn't a problem.

Around 1.00% to 4.75% should keep you within the thin to slightly thick range if using percentages.

Ditto.

Too thin will increase the likelihood of chipping at the girdle while too thick will make the stone face up smaller for the same carat weight.

I prefer a thin, but one that still shapes well. They''re more comfy! Oh wait....

Lore gave some good advice. Also, it depends on which type cut stone you''re looking at too, some are more acceptable in cuts other than rounds.
