Which setting??!?

I'm torn between this A. Jaffe halo ring like this: (it's the .52 ct tw set in the main picture)

and this .60 ct tw Verragio pave 3-stone ring:

Price being the same, which one would you prefer? And would I be able to fudge a .85 ct diamond in either or do these settings cry out for 1 ct or larger? If I go with the Verragio ring, it will have to be solo for a year or two - does it look substantial enough to wear alone?

My vote goes to the A. Jaffe halo setting. I think a .85 would look great in that setting!

I vote for the first. It''s beautiful! I think an .85 point stone would be a good size with the halo. I don''t like the second one as much. I think the .85 would be a little small for it to stand on it''s own. And IMHO, I think the second one looks a little young.

Both are beautiful. If I had to choose one though, I''d pick the Verragio because it has a little more zip on the side view. But the side view is my "thiing"...some may not care.
