Hi all!

I've been looking for a perfect engagement ring for a while now, and I've narrowed it down to two different settings. My girlfriend loves both of them, and I'm equally split between the two of them.

I'm pretty much stuck between the two...my only concern with the love knot setting is that it looks like it will take a larger diamond to "fill" the knot.

Any thoughts and feedback are much appreciated! Thank you!

Of course, it's a personal decision and your girlfriend (ideally) should try the settings on or at least something similar before deciding, but I like the twisted pave halo. I don't like the gap in the love knot halo one, but I am picky.

The twisted pave halo is beautiful, another member here recently had her 1ct stone set in it, and it looks fantastic!

The love knot.... I agree with the above poster, I'm not a fan of the gap with the split shank, it doesn't flow well to me.

That said, it won't be worn by any of us, so it's your gf's opinion that really matters!

I would go with the first one. The second is too complicated as an ering for me.

Hello, Rjb20! I'm the one vintageinjune was referring to. I absolutely love my new e-ring, which is the first one you posted - twisty halo ring. You can see more pics of mine on the SMTB topic page. Just search for James Allen twisty halo and the page should pull up first. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to post here and I will answer.

One thing to note, there are pics on their site of both a closed back and an open back. The newer design of the closed back is how the ring comes. My appraiser actually liked that better. She also thought the ring was gorgeous.

My way to describe the ring: understated romantic, vintage-feel, delicate, touch of floral, classic yet distinctive, simplistically blingy!

Please post what you decide!

Best, SparklySoprano

I love the twisted halo! It almost looks like it has a little antiquing that gives it a shadowy look. :appl:

I love the twisted halo as well

i really like the first one.

First one.

Twisted halo.

Twisted halo!

Another vote for number one.

And another for 1 :appl: :appl:

Another first one, number 1 looks very much like a romantic engagement ring, number 2 is gorgeous but just speaks more as a right hand ring to me, no offense to anyone who's engagement ring this is.. I like both of them, would love to have them :)

Ditto, thritto....first one.

I didn't cheat and read any responses - first one

Twisted halo is my vote too!

Wow! Thank you all so much for your replies. I see an overwhelming vote towards the twisted halo, which my gf also picked out as her favorite as well! Woohoo!

SparklySoprano: Thank you so much for posting your pictures, it looks amazing! I can't wait to see it on my gf's finger here soon :)

So now comes the even tougher part, finding the center stone! Right now I've got some diamonds that I've been looking at for the center stone and I wanted to run them by y'all as I try and narrow it down to the three to ask for idealscope images to! Here's the comparison page: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/?CaratFrom=0.63&CaratTo=1.15&Color=G,F,E&Clarity=VS2,VS1,VVS2,SI1,VVS1&PriceFrom=200&PriceTo=3600&Sort=Carat%20asc,%20DefaultOrder&TabSelected=3&advancedParameter=pn&showAdvanced=show&DiamondID=371339,380651,426108,274307,274312&Polish=&Symmetry=&Lab=AGS&Flour=&DepthFrom=45.0&DepthTo=80.0&TableFrom=50.0&TableTo=83.0

Or if my somewhat lacking knowledge of diamonds has led me to looking at a bunch of duds, let me know! haha any help is great!

Thank you all for the advice! I really really REALLY appreciate it!

Awesome choice! And I'll have a ring twin - very cool! Have fun with the diamond search. :)) And can't wait to see your pics soon!

Edit to ask: have you thought about h color? The side stones are g-h and my center is h. I think it looks just fine.

I like the twisted halo better as well. Sparkly Soprano, beautiful ring!

Thx, PartGypsy!
