Wow, talk about different styles! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the second one. The first one is attractive but looks a little clutterly and not as much like and e-ring, which is what I assume this is? JMO.
One is for a princess and one is for a round, so they are indeed very different. I don''t like princess stones. However, I''m not a fan of the safety factor of a tension setting (easier to lose the stone), so I guess I still vote for number one.
But I vote for one with diamonds rather than rubies.
While you do need to be more careful with tension sets (more about smacking the girdle than actually losing the stone), I would not let that deter you from getting it if it''s really what you want. That''s what insurance is for.
Keep in mind that with most tension rings, it''s hard to find wedding bands that match, especially the tension style that you picked. For my wife, she doesn''t care about wearing the wedding band right next to her e-ring, so I got her an antique english style floral vine band. Some times she only wears e-ring, sometimes just the w-band, sometimes both (w-band on left hand and e-ring on right hand).
They''re both beautiful. I''d opt for number one, I think it would look great with rubies. However, with 2 such diverse rings I''d really take into consideration the preference of the ring receiver. Does she like clean lines and simplicity? If so, maybe the tension setting is better. Does she like more bling? Then perhaps number one. My .02. Good Luck!!
thanks for the responses! i''m going for a bling-bling ring(first one) I''m usually conservative about
jewelery, but I''m excited about the engagement.
