Here are some of my top ring setting contenders.

Setting 1 - L-O-V-E-D THIS SETTING IRL. Only problem is I didn't get to see it in daylight and I am concerned it is going to look like an obvious round in cushion setting since the halo stones are bit larger. ALSO I don't know of anybody who has used this jeweler before although they have great reviews online. What is it about this setting that looks different to me from every other one I have seen?! Oh btw the center stone is not set in this ring yet hence the crazy prongs.

Setting 2: Saw this setting today and also loved it! It gave a more rectangular cushion feel which is something I really like. The stock photo is linked:

Setting 3: Setting has more of a square cushion shape. I believe it is a Martin Flyer design. The center diamond is just sitting on top of the prongs for this setting

Setting 4: Tacori 2620. I decided that if I chose this setting I would choose it with center stone set within the halo not hovering over it.

Anddddd a photo of Ring 2, Ring 3 and Ring 4 all together (and in order) - BTW IRL the round diamond is less noticeable in setting @2 than #3 as opposed to how it looks in this photo - weird!! I think it's because the center stone is not set in setting #3 shown here just placed on top.

Well watdya think?! Should I risk it and go for setting #1, go a little out of my pricepoint for the Tacori or choose a second favorite - setting #2? Or is Setting 3 an equal contender?

I like setting 3 best.

I like #3 too!

I like # 1!

#3 and #4. They are two different looks to me. Hard to decide which to vote for! I guess it depends on whether you prefer a more contemporary or antique look.

#3

#3 for me too!

My first opinion when I glanced at them one by one was setting 3. then I went back and liked things about each one of them. But I will go with my first choice # 3!

#3 as well. I think it definitely gives an overall cushion shape and the halo is not oversized or underdone. Good balance.

#3. I really like the size of the melee and the shape of the halo. Also looks beautiful on your hand.

I like 3 the most.

I like #3 the best.

I love #3 on you. It looks perfect on your finger. It looks like it belongs there. The proportions are spot on and the shank is a perfect mm.

Another vote for #3! It looks like you've got a winner :naughty:

I agree with the crowd - #3 looks the most 'at home' on your finger to me. The proportion of halo to center stone is very good. :lickout:

I like #3, it looks classy and delicate!

..going with the masses... this little lemming is also voting for #3. It seems the most 'cushion' like of the halo's and I like the band better. They are all lovely and you like them all, and I completely understand the challenges of picking the "PERFECT" setting, but I'd go with #3, if it were me.

Have you made a decision yet? Is there one *YOU* prefer over another? Because in the end, it's not what pleases US but what pleases YOU, that counts!!! You will live with it and see it everyday - go with your gut...

What is the price of each setting?

Thank you all sooo much for your opinions!! I took a risk and went with my GUT as a PP mentioned - I picked setting #1 the crowd's least favorite! ..I'm sure the Tacori 2620 will be around in a few years should I decide to switch again :) but this setting made my heart skip a beat every time I saw it. It is also in platinum and hand made. I put a deposit on it today and was able to take some pics of it on my hand with the cz center - personally, I think it looks better IRL...now do you think I should use claw prongs are the standard prong? The prongs are long and crazy on the store setting btw so don't judge that!

Here's a video :) (don't mind my stupid voice)

andddddddd some photos :)

2 weeks and she'll be ready!

Yay! I'm the only one who voted for # 1, but I love it! I think you will be happy with it. Congrats!

Its beautiful!!! And you went with what you wanted - that's the important thing, not whatever we picked!! Go with your gut - it never lets you down

so... 2 more weeks, huh??? :naughty:

Thank you!! I knew I had to get it when I walked past the store's window for the 5th time and almost went into panic when it wasn't glaring back at me! I guess someone else was trying it on...it's sort of a risk since it's an unknown designer but I'm keeping my original setting just in case! and yes 2 longgggg weeks with no e-ring - might have to go pick up a replacement ring in the meantime - my finger feels so naked!

Oh, any ideas on whether I should request double claw prongs or not?

It's a beautiful setting!!! Congrats on choosing the perfect ring for you!

I would go with single claw prongs.

Good choice! I'm partial to the Tacori but I'm glad you went with the one that "spoke" to you. Can't wait to see her when she's ready!!

I would say single claw prongs should be sufficient. You have a beautiful halo and you don't need it to be too "busy" with double prongs. I'd go single, if it were me.

How funny that you reacted in a panic when it wasn't there! That's the sign that its "THE ONE"! Good call - you'll always be happy knowing it was the one that completely captivated you!

Thank you everyone for your help!! I just have one last question before I call the jeweler to request the single claw prong, do you think the standard bead prongs would work better than the claw? This is how they would do it of I didn't request a change

I'd pick claw prong for the delicateness of that look, over a ball prong, in a heart beat. It just seems so much more refined and sleek.

Ditto this!

I would definitely do single claw prongs. It is a beautiful ring!

Good call by going with #3 ring and single claw would be my choice. ;)
