Golden -- I would guess that the diamond cross-bar thingie on the head will NOT touch your finger because it looks to be suspended slightly above the curve of your finger. (another reason why I think the ring design is cool) Seeing it person will be the only way to know for sure, as you said. You might want to call David Clay ahead of time before visiting to see if they have that actual ring in stock. If not, they can call it in.
