I am looking to get a Princess and fell in love with the AGS Ideal''s. From what i''ve seen i am a big fan of the Crafted By Infinity diamonds and thought i had pretty much settled on them until i came across one on GOG. Anyway, here are the two diamonds currently at the top of my list.

They both seem to have "feathers" as their main inclusions. From what i have seen in stores i am not that sensitive to color which is why i have gone down to the "I" range, though i initially planned on going more in the "F-G" range but figured this was the best place to sacrifice since more colorless diamonds seem to be at least $1000 more. They are both roughly the same price ($6200). The main downside to the one from GOG is that it''s measurements are not very square, but they may be close enough that i wouldnt notice/care but i''m not an expert. There is a video on the GOG page that compares 4 diamonds and i believe the 3rd one is the diamond i am considering.

Anyway, I just wanted to get you experts thoughts? Should i go with one of these? Something else you think is better? I love this place :)

I don''t know the price of the first one, but Gemex report of the second one has me ecstatic.

Since they are the same price range, my vote goes for the GOG stone. They are both cut extremely well, so I would go for the larger diamond. You are paying quite a premium for VVS clarity on the first and will never be able to tell the difference with the naked eye.

Easy choice for me - the bigger one! They''re both extremely well-cut, the same color, and the clarity doesn''t make that much of a difference to me.

I''m no expert .... but I''d choose #2.

Do the differences in returns/buy-back/trade-up policies between the two vendors matter to you?

They are both stunning, it comes down to personal preference - you can''t go wrong with either!

Thanks for all the responses! Like i said before, really the only thing holding me back from the GOG is the fact that it is more rectangular than the Infinity. My next step is to find out some more information on the feathers on each to see if they start at the surface, etc. Anything specific i should ask?

Does anyone know words to percentages conversion for the girdle thickness? The Infinity diamond is 1.6% - 3.4% and the GOG one is 1.3%-2.7%.

This princess cut chart seems to indicate they are both in the thin to thick range (but it seems to be pre 2004)

The chart on the AGS ideal page indicates they go down to the Very Thin range (which people seem to say to stay away from)

Thanks again for all the help

I will just look up the girdles for you -

1.6 - 3.4 = thin to medium

1.3 - 2.7 = thin

So they are both within good range. The above AGS chart is an older one apparently. With VVS and VS1 feathers there will not be a problem as they will be tiny, but check with the vendors if you prefer to hear it from the horses mouth so to speak!

Hey Lorelei - where did you look up those numbers at? I would like to bookmark it with my other million pages found through this site
