Here are two ovals I''m considering. Both are 1.02 D SI1.

I''m concerned the JA may be a little too deep at 65%, but they do list it as "Ideal" and the GIA cert shows VG polish/symmetry. I do tend to be partial to the ovals with lower L/W ratios, so the 1.26 doesn''t bother me (and from what I''ve read, the stubbier ovals tend to have less "bow tie" going on). Could the type of inclusions and where they are be an issue down the road?

The WF oval seems to have more "ideal" depth at 60.5%, L/W ratio at 1.43, and girdle thin-slightly thick, but it is only rated as "Good" in polish and symmetry. It also has more feathered inclusions.

Thanks in advance for any help, opinions, and advice!

I did a little digging, and the ''WF'' stone you listed is also on JA: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/D-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Oval-Diamond-1134511.asp

Between those two, I like the 1.26 L/W just because of the placement of the inclusion on the other.

Have you considered any of these:

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/F-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Oval-Diamond-1185688.asp

If you send JA an email they can get you the images and reports that are missing. They''ll also send you ideal scopes for 3 once you narrow it down.

How about a list of what your looking for in the stone, color, clarity, size, and budget so that we can give some more specific recomendations?

Can''t tell by numbers so much, so some more pics and Idealscope - not as useful as ASET with fancy shapes - would be helpful.

The fat one looks pretty.

Also don't go by labels such as Ideal Cut, these are no guarantee that you will in fact get a well cut diamond. Polish and symmetry are fine, also don't be too concerned about good for polish and symmetry in fancy shapes, these are more commonly found than very good and above, a diamond with good can still be well worth consideration, so don't let that put you off if you like the diamond, look at the whole picture.

Also concerning the indented natural and feather on the first diamond, there may not be an issue, check with the vendor or an appraiser.
