Which one would you go for? And, what questions should I ask the salesperson about these diamonds? They both seem to be good stones and I'm having a hard time choosing between the two. I'd go for the second in a heartbeat but it puts me over my "diamond + setting" by $118. So, I was wondering how the first one would fair becuase it would put me a few hundred under budget. It seems to be a very similar stone. Is there that big of a difference between the two?

I'm just worried becuase the first diamond is an SI2. You can't see any inclusions in the picture but I'm a little weary about it. Does GOG have a good enough reputation to assume there wouldn't be any inclusions in their SI2's? I'm really excited and nervous about all this...So any help is much appreciated.

I would ask GOG whether the S12 is eyeclean (just make sure your definition of eyeclean and GOG''s def matches) and if they okay it then yes you can trust their opinion :).

To me they both look nice but I will let someone else weigh in on which one is better :).

Thanks. I just emailed GOG and asked about it being eye-clean. They seem so similar its driving me crazy. I''m going to get one of these...I just can''t make up my mind which. I like the .84 but its just barely out of my price range. So, I could make it work but it would REALLY be a stretch. So, if the .81 SI2 is eye-clean, and is pretty much comparable to the other then I guess I''m going to get that. So, any suggestions or comments are much appreciated.

I would actually probably spend the extra $ for the VS2 in this situation because it is a few clarity grades up, is a touch bigger (but not noticeably so), and is only a few hundred dollars difference...

Ditto neatfreak.

Do you think there would be a noticable size difference betweent the two? I mean, if the .81 is eye-clean and I go with the .84 i''m going over-budget for something I can''t really see right? I don''t know...I guess we''ll see what GOG says about being eye-clean and then I''ll flip a coin.

I''m not convinced you can''t see it with this SI2 looking at the plots...but if the few hundred dollars is a big deal than by all means you can go with the SI2. It''s a great stone too. It''s just for only a few hundred dollars the clarity difference is pretty big.
