I prefer the E stone......I''d rather pay for higher color than higher clarity, especially when either is eyeclean.

Also, I''m not wild about the depth of the G stone at 62%. I prefer slightly shallower stones because they provide better spread. As you can see, the G stone is heavier than the E, but it''s no bigger in diameter.

Both are lovely stones, but I can''t see the point of paying more for a heavier stone when you''re paying for the weight and not getting more spread.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I didn''t notice that I wasn''t getting more spread for the weight, so thanks for pointing that out.

Ditto. For almost identical spread and price, I''d pick the better color over the higher clarity (as long as eye clean).

They both seem very nice..........but I think I would feel very comfortable with the G, VS2 combo......Plus (according to the sarin reports) there is a bit less angle variation on the GOG stone......and even though the diameters are about the same, you still are hitting that .8 mark!

I''d choose the WF stone...I don''t like the 62 depth of the GOG stone. I also agree I''d take the E color and lesser clarity over the VS2 G...but I''m not clarity sensitive either. Good luck!

I''d eliminate the third one you posted for sure. It is the smallest and has the inclusion right in the center. I don''t like to see the inclusion on the magnified photo.

This is a hard decision! I think if you wanted to go SI1, then the H is this obvious choice at .85. But if you look at the original 2, I''d probaby personally choose the G VS2, because I prefer VS stones and G-H is white enough to me.

Thanks to everybody for their feedback. It doesn't look like my picks are too good so I'm going to do some more research and then ask for additional opinions.

mre, that''s not true! Your choices ARE excellent! Everyone here chose one or more that they liked! I''d only eliminate that last stone you listed because it was smaller and the inclusion was more visible. All the others are great choices!

strmrdr, I didn''t notice that GOG diamond that you linked to, I should consider that one for sure. Anybody have any comments on the third one I posted?

That''s also a very lovely stone.....but personally, I''d rather have a little more diameter and would go with the E.

The diff between D and E is negligible in a mounted stone, but extra diameter is always a plus!
