All SI and one colorless... sure the F/Si2 !

Now... how does clarity look in person ? That surely matters allot. The looks of the ACA are well known (all those just looks the same, IMO) but how about the others ?

Assuming the F is this one, the stone is quite a doll and looks quite clean.

All in all, I'd just look for the higherst color the budget allows and lowest clarity I can bear. This one just does it.
Looking among the crrent choices on the "search by cut quality" list, I do agree that this one is the most tempting !

Between J/Si1 and F/Si2, one H/Si2 may sound like "middle ground". The picture presented with that stone is not all that great, but the lab report looks encouraging.

Just a thought...

one of the J's is a H&A diamond. does it matter anyway?

do u think the SI2 quality of this F diamond is alright?
Well, if H&A matters to you is the quetion...
Does it make enough difference to compensate for the gap between F and J ? Oh well, what do I know

This one case is hard because the F is also a very good cut - not a sloppy piece of work at all. Actually, a less strict brand than ACA might have called that "H&A" just because the cut is precise enough to show some pattern face up (the arrows look good anyway).

"SI2" does not mean "quality" to me, 'cause clarity is just one bit of the look and price of the stone. If this is a colorless and eye clean diamond with a great cut, it surely looks great and the overall look means "quality" for all purpose by GIA grading

. It is rather odd that clarity grades do not describe something visual, when diamonds are all about looks. IMO, at least.

How could that and this one have the same "quality" ? Both SI2... but the crystal shower in this one looks so much more obvious. Unless the photo plays tricks and what shows here does not in real life. Whiteflash could clarify this

thanks val. that was really helpful. my heart is on the F as well. i just need some one to assure me, that's the one.

the reason why i am comtemplating on those J's is because it suits my budget more.

but i guess it's worth it for a F colour.

and val, u know the picture above u just posted makes the scalp of my head itchy?!!

I wish I had ''em under 30X - inlcuded crystals are cool to look at.

ya.... i think it looks pretty ugly. i cant even look at it right now, while i am still scratching my head! it makes my hair stand also! i dont know why i have such a bad reaction to it. haha

anyway, i am getting more pictures taken on the F and they can only have it ready on monday.

so until then, i am keeping my fingers crossed that the pictures will turn out the way i wish it would turn out.

thanks val for your advise. really appreciate it!

Hm... it wasn''t very curteous of my part to denigrate the poor D/SI2. That''s a very, very exagerated view (40x!) of it''s flaws. Surely the photo shows the very good cut as well, but among other ES stones that appears to be the norm, LOL. Surely this isn''t the case outside "Pricescope neverland". Even among those stones the proportions are very strict.

In person, the crystals should look no more offending than dust.

Oh well...

Can''t wait to hear good shopping news from you
