well the .76 is a 1.4 on the HCA and the .77 is a .9 on the HCA!! That's fantastic! Do you have pictures? I'd ask for those and any aset images.

They're both cut great, but the .9 is very very hard to find! Plus it's bigger :naughty:

I dont have any pictures or anything..they would both be online purchases...They a both GIA certified and thats all the imfo that is on the cert.

Also forgot to mention that the first on I can get for $2,940 thats for the 0.76 and the secound one 0.77 they want $3,514.00

You've mentioned the clarity on them (VS2 etc) but not the color (ie D E F G H...) That would also help.

They are both H color

both have inclusions of crystal, cloud

This was about the closest comparison I could find looking quickly, and the numbers look better on your bigger one. This one is a little out of ideal spec preferences.

I doubt the inclusions would be an issue in a stone of this size, but someone else whose been at this longer may have a different opinion. Is it possible to ask if it is eyeclean?

Wow, this one scored a 5.3 on the HCA....If you can afford it, I'd go for the first .77 still.

As far as the first two that i listed and the prices for them, which one would be recommended?

I wasn't actually trying to steer you to a different stone, I was only trying to find a price comparison of a similar size and clarity since you asked about price. I think the numbers look good on the slightly larger one you found and based on just the numbers, that's be the one I'd choose.

For reference, I ran the two candidate you have through the HCA tool and came up with 2.6 for the first one and .7 for the second one. Generally you discard choices that score over two, or at least they need a lot more looking at and then take a look at the candidates that score under 2, which your second one does.

I'm no pricing expert, which is why I took a quick look at a similar stone (without running any numbers) just looking at size and clarity so you could see what similar stones are going for. This is something it is quite easy to do. Just run a search for H VS2s in your size range up in the diamond search box here and see what prices come up if you are worried about the cost.

I don't think the price is totally out of range. One thing we don't know about the stone you are considering is if it is rated Hearts and Arrows for optical symmetry. That usually commands a further premium over a near or non- H/A stone, so that's something else to take in to consideration.

Again, I'd choose the FIRST .77 stone you posted.....
