go bungee jumping?..

It might sound silly, but I would go skydiving before I would go bungee jumping! I don't trust bungee jumping places AT ALL!

No way! Absolutely not! At 52 I'm not taking any chances! my risk-taking days are long gone. :cheeky:

I am! It scared the bejeebus out of me, but it was great!

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I confess, I am a scaredy cat - not even if there were a pot of diamonds at the bottom!

Wow! I'm not in a rush to do EITHER, lol, but I would pick skydiving over bungee jumping. DH is technically qualified to be my jump instructor so if I ever went, it would be with him, and I would make him check the chutes 17 times!!!

Never done bungee jumping. Probably will never.... But we are planning a trip to sky dive soon. I'm trying to stay calm and collected but I gotta admit, it's freaking me out.

Nope, I am pretty risk adverse. Always have been always will be. Most exciting thing I have done that might be remotely similar (but not really) was parasailing. That was fun and within my comfort range of risk.

Never never never! Never! I won't go on a roller coaster. Princesss, I admire your spirit more than I can say! :appl: I'm not half the girl you are, and that's the way it is!

P.S. What a BEAUTIFUL place, Princesss -- where was it?

I did both in NZ - I bungy jumped in Queenstown at The Ledge (47m fall, 400m above Queenstown - what a view!) and went skydiving in Taupo.

Not me and never will... but I am also one who did go skydiving! There's no G-Force (or something like that) so you don't have the sensation of falling like you do with bungee jumping, thus a totally different sensation/experience. Loved it!!

Not on my bucket list. I have no interest in plummeting toward Earth, attached to something or not!! Roller coasters are as close as I get...

Won't bungee jump because every time I see it I think of a giant rubber band snapping or getting whip lash. I did however go skydiving while I lived in Houston. It was quite the rush and I highly recommend it if you can gather up the courage to do so. There is the moment you think WTF am I doing!? (I also hate heights) but when your strapped to someone who WILL be jumping your SOL and just get to go along for the ride. I would do it again but my DH on the other hand won't at all. His brother just got married and he was the best man and the top thing was sky diving...he got a gift certificate to do it on his own lol.

If you do decide to do it pay the extra 100.00 for the video. You'll probably only go once and it's fun to watch it afterward. ::)

I'm so jealous! I would love to do something like this, but I get the worst physical feeling when I go on any falling/dropping roller coasters. I hate the feeling. I love the thrill, I love the beauty of high rides, I love doing crazy things… I just always this weird, indescribable physical feeling throughout my body. It's so weird. Does anyone else get this?

What's G Force? Is it that weird, indescribable dying-feeling I'm trying to describe? Lol.

I jumped off Bloukrans Bridge in January - the highest commercial bungee jump in the world...

I think G-Force is the physics that accounts for that feeling - something to do with the horizon? You might love skydiving - I know the sensation you are talking about and I hate it too. That's why I couldn't go bungee jumping. However with skydiving you don't get that sensation of falling or nausea and what have you. There's just a lot of wind rushing in your face and the thrill and joy of being suspended over the earth, so small and big beneath you all at the same time. Then when the shoot opens it's just so peaceful and fun! I jumped tandem, and the guy attached to me (ha, that sounds so weird) said that because the horizon is so far away your brain has no point of reference to realize it's falling, thus you don't get that sensation (or something to that effect, it was a long time ago!). I had never even been in a plane when I jumped, but I just knew I wanted to do it and would love it, and I did!

Maybe you mean ground rush? G force has to do with the number of "gravities" you feel - so 3Gs is 3 times the force of gravity.

Cool, Trekkie! i drove past it but didnt like the look of the ground (!you're brave!), so i saved myself for the victoria falls bridge jump. I was really terrified doing it and i squealed like a little piglet on the way down  but im glad ive done it, probably wouldnt do it again.

Sky diving on the other hand i look forward to doing again. Just waiting to go somewhere where its a great view. I did it in Namibia near Swapokmund and it was really awesome =)

Hm, thanks guys. I wonder if the indoor ones create the same physical feeling? I'd like to try it for a short minute on those indoor ones before getting "stuck" on the real deal, just in case I do feel that sick physical feeling. I don't think that feeling has anything to do with the horizon or whatnot, since it's not linked to visuals for me. I feel it plenty, even with my eyes closed. My whole body gets muscle weakness, and I can't even hold onto the bars in front of me on roller coasters. My body locks up and tenses, and my heart and guts feel like they want to explode out of my head, and my skin feels like it's tickle-burning. Like half tickled, half burning. It's the weirdest thing.

But I've totally forced myself to go on the Superman ride multiple times just so I can get that 10 seconds of beautiful view up top, right before I go to hell for a minute. In fact, it was one of the first things I did when I first started to wear contact lenses. I was never able to see before, since I had to take off my glasses. I'm totally googling local places for tandem skydiving now :cheeky: :cheeky:

With indoor skydiving, you don't get the falling feeling - just the sensation after your body normalizes (when you jump, you get about a second of "Holy cow, I'm falling!" and then it's more like the feeling when you're running through a really strong wind). So, since there is no real falling, that feeling doesn't happen. (I like your description - for me it's like my insides have turned into Jell-o and are free floating around my body until they pop back into place.)

If you go - go for the highest jump you can. I had a minute of freefall (a 15,000 foot jump) and it was great. By the end of it, I was so in love I was sad when the chute opened (sad - but very, very grateful).

I got talked into it by a friend of mine in College, and we did this off of a train bridge (illegally) in Napa. Every time a train was scheduled to arrive, the bungee people had to dismantle everything and we had to hide!

Talk about craziness. I would never do it again.

WOW!!! there are a few  here..
