Not me - way too many people. DH went once with his father and brother, but now his office doesn''t give them off the day after Thanksgiving so he hasn''t been able to the past 2 years.
not me....or my hubby. even going to the movies is a pain on black friday as that''s where the crazed shoppers seem to dump their kids and/or SO''s.....
Not me!! Never have, never will. I''ll be working on Friday to stay on top of all the work that this time of the season generates for me because of all the shoppers.
My late mom and I used to back when it was safe and fun! You couldn''t pay me to get out in all of that mess today. People get trampled and it just isn''t worth it.
I go every year! The last two years we''ve gone at midnight to the outlets near us. Pottery Barn has their Christmas decorations for dirt cheap, so that has become a tradition, then usually we hit up Target, Kohl''s, Younkers, then come home and sleep!
This will be my fourth year going. My friend and I meet up after most of the craziness is past (around 11), and just chat and shop. I''m done with my Christmas shopping (everybody but BF, who is completely impossible to shop for), so I''ll just be taking advantage of sales for me! I need jeans, a hat, and sweaters. And warm socks.
I''ll be there bright and early! It''s a tradition with my mom, aunt and I. We buy the paper on Thanksgiving Day and scout out our route that night. Sometimes they do 5am, but I always make it by 7am
ME! Petsmart has a cat condo for $100 (instead of $160) and an automatic litterbox for $70 (instead of $110). I''ll be there at 6:30am for one cat condo and two litterboxes! Anything for my "babies"
I will be leaving the house at 4am. Fiance comes with me now and we have a blast.
The trick is knowing what you want and getting in and out as quickly as possible. Later on in the morning we''ll meet up with my parents for breakfast!
Me! Though I''m not going with any goal in mind - just to look and see if there are good deals
My family used to be hardcore about it though. I remember in elem. school waiting for an hour at 4 AM or so with my mom - and w DID have shopping goals then (and a list!).
We hadn''t planned to, but JD''s working all weekend, so it''s either Friday or nothing. If my mom can''t watch the kids I doubt we''ll go-it''s bad enough just for the 2 of us, let alone dragging 2 little kids along. I have a large and mean looking husband so people generally aren''t rude or pushy when he''s around. Speak softly and marry a big mean guy, that''s my motto.
Oh, I go every year! I don't go for the early bird bargains - I just get there when I get there. The only problem is the parking! I just love the spirit of the day and love watching people excited about what they are doing. If I get tired or tired of being in the crowd, I'll get some Starbucks and sit down and people watch. I'd do more shopping but problem is it's always way to early to know exactly what I'm looking for. My family usually doesn't get around to asking for things just yet!
After all the hustle and bustle of that day, you can generally go to the mall on some random Tuesday evening and find it not very crowded at all - until the week before Christmas. Those are the times that I usually do most of my shopping.
