Hi PS,

I need help identifying which diamond is better Cut? Both Ideal Cut diamonds. FYI - one of these is categorized as H&A and the other is not. Are you able to pick which one is H&A? I see small difference between the two. Can someone take a look at the Idealscope and let me know which one looks better and why? Your input is greatly appreciated.

Hey!
The idealscope of the I looks best. Also its biggest, and I like colors in the I range. So that would hands down be my choice. However, I know your lady originally wanted an F, has she changed her mind? Did she see them ? Did she realize she preferred size?

I prefer the I stone as well, for the reasons that Niel mentioned. If the I color is something that she knows she is ok with that is the one I would get. The 0.4mm difference will definitely be noticeable. But if the slight warmth of I is in question, I would take some time to nail down what the priorites are and might continue the search in higher colors as you may find better than the G.

I think the G stone is the best cut according to the images, but both stones should be fine. There is a big difference in the color and size, so you absolutely do need to know the priorities regarding those. Or split the difference and find an H!!!

You prefer the IS image of the G over the I? Maybe I am missing something, but it looks like it has areas of less saturated red under the table. Maybe better alignment of the arrows with the arrowheads, but I think the idealscope of the I is better than the G.

The G has more perfect hearts, the contrast leakage is well balanced, any variation in the red is slight (this stone may have brighter back lighting), nice arrows, it may not be "H&A" but if not, it is close. The 34.8 crown angle is one thing that probably is an advantage on this stone.

Re: Which one is better? Niel, Seeker2006, pfunk, othrs pls

Well considering both pictures look to be from the same vendor I would guess they were taken in the same manner with the same backlighting. That doesnt look like it's the case to me, and if it is I would really start to question how useful IS images are for comparisons between stones from the same vendor. That makes it really tough to say anything with confidence. I didn't see the difference in the contrast leakage before, so that's a good point.

I agree on the more perfect hearts and even arrows on the G, but because we don't know what that means yet for performance I'd still opt for the I based on the big size difference. No doubt both are great performers though.

Re: Which one is better? Niel, Seeker2006, pfunk, othrs pls

They are both AGS 000 stones with idealscopes that look good. I would take the "I" due to the bigger size and the "I" color not
bothering me.

The I is significantly larger! And I like that IS better as well :)
