I like the first one best, it is to my taste in an EC.

i really dont know what i''m looking at in the aset pictures but i know that there is more light leakage in the IS of the first diamond

Yes Lorelei, first one for me too.
I love the red in the middle, and the ratio looks more classy to me.

Only problem with nr 1: it doesn''t look very parallel...

the first one has better numbers, but i guess i''m just afraid based on the aset and is that it does not look as good in natural light.

I think nr 1 will look very good even in natural light.

Thritto! Aset in #1 looks really good!

There is a little too much green in the second asset and I don''t like the windmills in that stone. I''d pick number 1 of the two, but the table is a tad large.

The table of nr 1 is smaller than nr 2''s...

1''s table is a 1A grade. everything on 1 is a grade 1A except the depth which is a 2B

Yes, it''s because of the thick girdle.
Yet I think it''s gorgeous.

i didnt list it up there but the girdle on 2 is thk to vthk

anyone think it would be a bad move getting 1 over 2?

I still prefer the one on the right, nr 1.

the diamond will be going in this setting. the basket is going to be changed so it'll fit an emerald and the prongs are going to be a split claw. material will be palladium

That will be nice!

.83 is more traditional

.86 is brighter

Both are good.

On the hand shot I like the .86

im thinking its going to look something like this but the basket/prongs will be different. its hard to tell b/c of this angle and the angle on wf's site

.83 doesn''t look white as .86
If I had to buy one, I''d choose .83 because I think it has great fire potential.
Maximal light return is not what I''d be looking for if I had to buy an emerald cut, but well decent light return, what is the case with .83.
If one day I buy an emerald cut, it will be for the mesmerizing "parallel" scintillation, the big flashes of fire and the contrast.

.86 would have larger flashes in the center, more med flashes towards the ends compared to the 83.
Overall fire award would slightly favor the 86.
.86 has wider virtual facets in the center, more med towards the ends.
Nice balance.
It also has a higher crown.

There are 2 different personalities of EC.
Unfortunately picking between them online is hard.
In person a group of people would be drawn to one and another group to the other with some crossing over and liking both.

sorry it doesn''t help but I would be happy with either one and slightly lean towards the .86 but someone else might slightly lean the other way.
Both are kicken so you cant go wrong.
