I was curious as to what some of you thought. In your opinion, which setting do you like better. They are very similar, choice one has pear shaped side diamonds (.5ct wt) and choice 2 has bullet shaped diamonds (.6 ct wt). The setting from a side view has slightly different mountings.

Choice One: Pear Shaped Sides

Choice Two: Bullet Shaped Sides

Thanks!

Tough one

for what that matters, I love the second both for being slightly unusual and for the contrastbetween the step cut sides and the roud center.

As far as I understand, these are stock photos of the rings and do not correspond with the actual proportions of your ring... The bullet sides are a bit trickier to set next toa round without leaving a gap between the stones because of their flat side. It helps if the center stone is relative large compared to the sides. The pears do not face this problem as much so there is more room for error.

I am surprised that they used a four prong setting for the pear sides - usually there is a V-shaped prong to ptotect the tip of the pears... perhaps not without reason. Perhaps this is no problem, I just do not know the pros and cons here - just the habit.

i like the pears better in that style of ring

i like the pears.....beautiful :)

I think the pears look better with a RB.

I have to agree with most. Pear is better. The reason I like the pears better is it feels better when looking at it. Your eye likes to match shapes and the soft edges of the pear match the round much better than the flat edges of the "bullet." At least that''s my opinion. The bullet seems out of place. The bullet would be a better option with a cushion or princess center. Again. My opinion. ;-) It''s your choice though!

Another vote for the pears--soooo graceful!

Pears all the way. (I''m biased, except in yellow gold, that was my original ering!) I didn''t know anything about diamonds then, and I was semi-surprised to see that the sides were pears when I pulled it out of the safe recently. At the time, I was thinking about putting pear sides on my current solitaire, 20 years later, so I must like them!

WIthout the bias, I don''t particularly like the shape of the bullets with the round center stone. The don''t seem complimentary to me.

Here is another vote for the pears....Hey, I am in NC too!

I''m a pear lover, but that''s not why I like the ring with pear sides better. To me, it just has more fluidity to it...it''s not that I don''t like the bullet sides...but the bullet ring just seems to end rather "abruptly" IMO. Not as graceful looking.

Both are lovely. I think the bullets are cool and more "modern" looking, but I really love RBs with pears on the sides. That''s my vote.

My thoughts were pretty much the same. Go for the pears!

I like the pears better, they compliment the RB very well. The bullet is over powering IMO.

I prefer number one. 2 seems off to me and I feel the sides clash or distract form the center rather then compliment it. JMO

Pears please.

another vote for the pears.... they just flow better.

the bullets seem like they''re fighting with the center stone rather than complimenting it.

I like the pear sides better.

I go with the pears just watch out with tips of the pears the way it is set you can chip it. I would of bring the tips to come and join as one at the edge to protect it.

Pear sides. Hands down, no contest. I think it''s beautiful

I personally think the roundness of the pears and the RB make a better looking ring. The blunt ends of the bullets don''t seem to look so good where they reach the RB.

Definitely the Pears. They do seem to flow better with the round brilliant. The bullet shape seems a little to blunt. I would want the side stones to compliment the center, but not to take attention away from the center stone. WIth the pears, the ring also looks more elegant.

I like number one!

Ditto everyone about the flow of the round diamond with the round edge of the pears. I also think that the pears are much more feminine.

pears. definitely the pears. the bullets look bulky.
