A lot of measurements are missing, pavilion depth for some, which is important. Angles would be useful. Do you happen to have this info?

Hi there..

I don''t have this information unfortunately. I can get the pavilion depth for the one that is missing (that is, I''ve requested it and they are due to get back to me with this information)..

I would like to confirm the purchase before the end of the week (which is, incidentally, today)..

I''m not very knowledgable about diamonds.. Which is why I''m here.. I just need help and advise before I make a purchase and end up getting the wrong thing..

For the moment, the one that stands out is the .60ct stone, which is considerably larger than the rest, has a good colour and a decent clarity (and comes with a GIA certificate, which by reading around it is well valued), however the cut is 1.02:1 .. Does a .02 difference make that great an impact?

The third diamond is a IFC cut.. Now.. That''s a good thing, right? And it''s actually cheaper than the rest.. I don''t know.. Please give me some direction as to where to go..

hhm.. it''s too expensive though.. I am in Australia, and our dollar is much lower than yours.. So, for the diamonds I posted, whilst I''d be paying (for example) $2500 for a D VVS2 52pt stone, it''d be about $1800-$1900 in US dollars..

In any case, I did compare the link you''ve provided to one of the diamonds I posted below (albeit it being a .54 instead of a .55, I had expected the measurements to be somewhat alike).. They''re not though.. They''re completly off..

Is there a way I can tell whether the diamonds I posted are cut well?

Oh, didn't know the were in AUS dollars.

For a .5 stone, I'd expect about 4.5 mm. It's not possible to tell how well cut they are on paper. I'd probably eliminate 4, as it is the smallest. Also, 2 was the first one I wanted to strike, for the good symmetry, thick-very thick girdle, and large table. However, if it is the best looking of the bunch, then...don't strike it.

Alright, I think I remember you wanted more size but couldn't on your budget? http://www.exceldiamonds.com/diamond/23172.html

I haven''t actually seen these diamonds unfortunately, but I do agree, the smallest one is probably a bit overpriced in comparison to the rest..
I got a copy of the certificate for #2 on the list, so I''ll post that below..

I''m getting a copy of the certificate for #1 later today.. I hope it works out..
It''s not a GIA certificate though.. And I haven''t heard much of DCLA.. Does anyone have any thoughts, ideas, or has anyone even heard of them?

Okay.. I got the certificate for the other diamond I''d be intereted in getting..

This is #3 above.. And I''m rather skeptical, as even though the lady did say that she''d recommend this one, as it apparently is a perfectly square diamond, the measurement IS 4.46 and not 4.5, as an ideal cut apparently is..
Will a .04 difference make a huge impact on the diamond?

I''m sorry for sounding so pedantic.. =/

I know there''s a calculator in a site that, if you enter variables belonging to your diamond, it will spit out a conclussion of the type of diamond it is..

I can''t remember what site it was in though.. Can someone help?

IFC =International Fine Cut ?
