Hi gals! I am probably going to be ordering the invites in the next couple of days and needed a little help with the wording. I asked my mom and FI but they said to do whatever I want. I hate making decisions myself! ;)

Which do you like better?

Sunnygirl

Sunnyman

I kind of like the way the first one is, because it sounds more like we are inviting people where the second one sounds like nameless people are doing the inviting. My only concern is that I think it looks a little weird to have the names in script at the top, then all the rest in the other font. What do you think?

Personally I like the second one better. It has a better flow. I do get what you mean about the nameless people, but I don''t think it will matter. They will understand what you mean.

Ditto!

The ''focus'' of the first one is you two

The ''focus'' of the second one is the wedding.

To buck the trend, I like the first. Its more personal.

I like the first, too! You can always bump your names down a bit if you want it to be more centered on the page.

Thanks for all the replies! Seems like people are split....just like me!

In the different books and websites I have seen, the first way is usually listed when the couple is hosting. The only place I have seen the second one is on the Martha Stewart website...

Any more opinions?? I am still confused....

personally, i like the first one better, too, but the first thing that popped into my head was also that it might look odd to start the invitation with the script. what if you added a line before the names, like "with joyful hearts" or something? then the personal note of the invite being extended from you and FI is still there but without the visual issues.

I like the first one better.

Another vote for the first one!

I like the second one better, but it was for the reason already mentioned that it seemed weird for the very first line to be your names. If you added a fun line before the names, I would like the first better.

Thanks for all the input!

Do you think it would be less weird for our names to be at the top if our invitation looks like this since there is stuff at the top of the page?

I like the layout of this page.

Also, I must quickly say (because I have not gotten a chance to speak with you)- I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Novo ring. (It''s my dream ring

) It is so simply stunning, you are one lucky girl! Have you chosen your wedding band to go with it yet?

Thanks for the input!! You guys rock! I think we are going to go with the first one which I am hoping looks less weird with the flowers on the top of the invite.

Dreamgirl - Thanks for the ring compliments! We are going to go with the matching band because it goes perfectly and because it is easy - the Tiffany store is literally 5 blocks from my house!

I wouldn't decide on what sounded better, but what looked better with the invitations you choose. Where your names go will give a very different look- I see a lot of contemporary, informal designs with the names at the top, while the classic ones tend to the frame the names with the wording.

ETA: I have a couple bookmarked that had script names at the top followed by a sans-serif font- love the look. I can't recall seeing that style with the more classic style wedding invitation like you posted. Maybe someone has seen some around and can post a pic.

Okay, I had to see it. I just rearranged the text to give an idea; I didn''t change the text/use your wording, but you get an idea of how it would look. I don''t think it would look weird at all- it''s just a different look.
