I prefer the first one, it allows the stone to be the star. The second one is a halo setting, and it''s lovely. Does she want a halo?? It''s a matter of preference..

I agree with Kaleigh.

Same with me.

I like the first one. It''s stunning!!

I agree with the others; the first setting is the best looking (but I''m not a woman!).
The second setting looks a bit too "bling" and there''s a risk of over-doing the attention-seeking "look at me!".

I'm with Kaleigh and Lorelei - both designs are lovely, but there's a definite 'apples to oranges' thing happening. Some folks adore a halo, others not so much. How's that for help?

That being said, *I prefer* the first (non-halo) example. Although I would nix the milgrain. For me, it conflicts with the simplicity of the rest of the design. But that's just me...honestly, both are beauties.

ETA: Just noticed your comment about the engraving; in that case, my comment about the milgrain on the first example doesn't apply. Milgrain and engraving are a match made in heaven!

How big is the main stone? If it is <.9 I would probably do the halo for better finger coverage. If it is like
a carat up I would go with the single stone.

Ditto!

The first. I'm not crazy about the thick prongs (basket supports?) on the second.

I''ll go against the majority and say that I prefer the second one. I think it''s really gorgeous.

There both stunning but the second one actually looks nicer with an emerald cut set in it. I have sen it. The first one is a grabber!

How large is the centerstone? That would affect my decision.

Two completely different look I think, whether you like halo or not? have you tried halos on in person? how big is your stone? do you want finger coverage?

If the halo around the stone in #2 was thinner, I''d vote for that one. Given the current pics, I also vote for #1.

Is the center stone an asscher? You''ve got 2 beautiful choices. Good luck with your decision!

I like the first one best-it really grabs me!

wow...thanks everyone for the responses! The first one was my orignal design...The center stone is an asscher 1.00ct D VS1 56% table 69% depth...I really do think the first one with the antique engraving on the side will be kick butt....you guys are great!
