Which corner claws?

I''ve decided I want corner claws for my soon to be arriving belated post-wedding "engagement" ring. Initially I was going to go for the traditional smaller style as in the Tiffany Princess setting (picture 1). However, I''ve just come across a photo photo of some "angled" corner claws (picture 2).

Which do you prefer?

Also, is the stone in picture 2 a princess cut? The facets look more like a cushion, however it appears to be a square shape diamond.

i like the prongs in the second one! i have a princess cut and love them, but i have always been irked by v-tip prongs.... the only kind i actually like are ones like those in the second picture you posted.
