Which Canadian diamond would you choose?

I am trying to decide on the following two Canadian diamonds from Bluenile. Both are almost identical in specs (1.02ct, G, VS2, XXX) and price is exactly the same. Both score HCA<2. The only difference I see based on the below GIA reports below is Diamond A has more inclusions in the table area but is slightly less deep slightly more round (marginally larger diameter, 0.04mm) vs. the other which has less inclusions around the table but is slightly more deep (smaller diameter).

Diamond A (HCA=1.4):

Diamond B (HCA=1.6):

I know Ideally I should get brilliance scans and ideal-scope scans and what not, but Bluenile does not provide this service (except for their Signature cuts). I know some will tell me other vendors on this site provides these services for free, but I have been hard press find a comparable Canadian diamond from other vendors (at least via online search). I know some might want to start a discussion around the merits of Canadian diamonds vs. non-Canadian and I do not want to have a debate on this topic in this thread as I have read through existing discussions on this topic already. And yes, I am Canadian.

Thanks for the group's help in advance.

VIA IDJewlery's best price program, they will call in the Blue Nile diamond, provide IdealScope and plent of other pictures + Beat the price. Just send them the link.

Thanks I'll check them out. To confirm is this website? http://idjewelryonline.com

One thing though, I thought Bluenile carries much of it's inventory on hand, because when I called them, they said they can have one of their gemologists actually take a physical look at the diamonds I'm interested in.

Just got some images from ID Jewelery. for Diamond B. What do you think?IMG_7874.jpgIMG_7873.jpgIMG_7871.jpgASETpic%20102.jpg

Sorry for not getting back to you promptly. Looks like you found Id Jewelry. That was quick!

Im no expert, but the images look quite good. Are you working with Yekutiel? What did he have to say about it? Also IDJ has great prices on settings.

Also I checked for your diamond online. Looks like it is a Blue Nile Exclusive. I bought a diamond from IDJ which was also not listed as a virtual stone on any other websites. I would have preferred if it was so I would have had the comfort of knowing Blue Niles price wasn't high. However my stone was a lot cheaper than all similarly specked stones and checked out per the ASET/Idealscope/Clarity.

Are you going to select this one, or ask Yekutiel to show you some other stones you may like?

Here are pics for a second comparable stone (not from Bluenile inventory). Which one do you think is better?

With the caveat that I am not expert here are my two cents. The first stone looks like it has a little better symmetry, they both have great light performance. What did Yekutial say about them?

Also what are the stats on the 2nd stone? I would say most people here prefer a smaller table. Also what are there difference in crown angle? (higher angle gives more fire less brightness per HCA) Diameter? And perhaps most importantly price?

Maybe try a new post titled "Help Comparing two Idealscope/ASET images" to get more replays.

Hearts and Arrows scans for Diamond 2

I think I'm leaning towards the second stone. The second one is very similar in spec, both are 57 table, but the second one is 34 crown vs. 35 with the first one.

The in the ASET in the first stone around 2o'clock you can see some green on the crown. Yukutiel thinks it's one of the feathers that is causing that. I'm not sure. Symmetry wise, they look close. I jsut posted the H&A for second stone and the hearts looks slightly better aligned, but it could be b/c I cropped the photos and zoomed it in.\

Oh, and the 2nd stone is $100 more, not much of premium.

Great. I will subscribe to that one and follow you there. Hopefully you'll get a lot of good feedback.

I think though you are picking between 2 winners which makes things a little easier.

I'm not a huge expert, but just as a drive by look, I liked the second one a little better.
