Hello everyone!

I want to take advantage of BGD's mother's day sale to get a diamond pendant with ~ 0.3 carat diamond. But I can't decide between the following two styles.

Barbara pendant seems to be very popular here, but a quick search brought me to this post complaining about the pendant keep leaning forward and wouldn't stay flat.

Fixed bezel pendant seems to be very similar to Tiffany's DBTY necklace, which is very popular. However, I'm worried that the exposed diamond tip might poke the skin and makes it uncomfortable.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I like the fixed personally and prefer it as I find it keeps the diamond in place more. I have one similar and haven't noticed it being uncomfortable with an exposed culet, but go with the one you feel would be best.

Thanks Lorelai! Can I ask how big the diamond is? I was thinking about going for ~0.3 ct, but now I'm second guessing and thinking I should go for something more dainty like 0.2 ct.

Of course, it's a 1.06 round diamond

I'd go for the 0.3 personally.

I don't have experience with these, per se, but I would worry about the issue you mentioned - where the stone leans forward due to the "slide"-style of the pendant. So I vote for #2.

I have a fixed pendant and love it. Can you ask BGD if they can make a fully enclosed bezel so nothing pokes you?

I have a Roberto Coin necklace that looks just like the bezel ones and have never noticed it feeling like it was poking my skin. I wear it most days.

I think that for the size diamond you are going for the fixed bezel will be perfect. I feel like Barbara would be a lot of metal for 0.3 ct.

Personally, I prefer fixed. I have a 1 carat stone in a fixed bezel and it doesn't poke my skin.

I have both styles and yes, the Barbara does tend to tip. My fixed bezel doesn’t poke but it does tend to wander away from the middle of my neck so in my opinion each has an issue. You’d have to decide which would bother you more. I think a slide type pendant with a different back than the Barbara works best but that might not be an option if you at purchasing at BG.
