Ok so I was just wondering if you could help me decide what type of band(s) to go for with my current set. I am currently only wearing it with a simple rope spacer band. I was thinking of adding the Tiffany Lucida plain gold 2mm but would love some ideas. I adore Van Craeynest also and was thinking maybe an engraved band? Or else paved? Please help me decide :-)

Hi Scarlett, beautiful ring and I like the rope band with it too. What is the width of your ER band? I like to keep the width and height of the bands I wear with my ER similar for a cohesive look. Though I prefer a space between my rings to give it a distinct and separate look if that makes sense. Just like what you have with the rope band and your ER. It all goes but you see they are different rings and not one blobby ring. I think a classic simple band would look beautiful and I might hesitate adding something with too much going on because your ER speaks for itself and is the star of the show.

Thanks Missy,
Yes I like the separated look also. The ering shank is 2mm. I was thinking a simple plain band would prob look best. But finding it hard to decide!!
Thank you :-)

I actually really love the twist one. I've been craving one of those tiffany rope rings sense forever. I think its plain yet unique. Makes it stand out but not compete with your ring.

Thanks Niel. I also love my rope band, but was thinking of adding another? Maybe plain gold band with rope band in middle? I've been wearing the set like this for a while and feel it's missing something?

Your ring is so gorgeous Scarlett1, *sigh*

I love engraved bands, I'm always on the lookout for them, but I feel your ring has a modern feel to it and I'm not sure how well an engraved band would go with it - I tend to associate engraved bands with more of a vintage look, but I could be wrong lol.

The rope band looks great, and I think a plain band with it and your ering would look really pretty.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the rope band, but I have to agree with the others in that a plain band would look great! A plain band would stream line the look & keep the attention on your gorgeous setting. Your setting has a lot going on, & a plain band would not detract from it! It is so beautiful!!

Junebug, yes I think you're right, as much as I absolutely adore engraved bands, I think it prob just won't go with my ring. Sarahb, I think a plain band prob is the way to go. I must go and try some with it. I love the tiffany lucida band but not so much the price tag lol. May search ebay me thinks or put some feelers out on preloved.

I think a plain gold band with the rope band in the middle is perfect! I agree that it needs to be simple to not conflict with the diamond ring.

I also think a plain gold band would be perfect, with or without the rope band. I don't think an engraved band would match.

Thank you diamondseeker and woofmama for your advice. I have started wearing my original wedding band with it that I think doesn't look too bad, have actually gotten use to wearing it with it and like having it there!! It is 3mm and very comfortable!! Will wear it for the time being till I see what I'll do! I went into Tiffany's today to try on their 2mm lucida with it and they had none in yellow gold :-(. I tried the 2mm in the platinum and the size just didn't look right on my finger, too flimsy for my big stubby man hands lol!! The 3mm was nice but didn't go as well with it as my own band so was not worth the big price tag for me. On the way home I popped into my local jewellers to see if he had anything. Tried on a few bands in diff widths and again preferred what I already have. However, I spied that he had just gotten in a preloved Cartier love ring in my size in yellow gold. Tried it on and absolutely loved it!! I asked him to hold it for me while I decide whether to splurge on it or not (very very reasonable price mind you). I think this would be perfect as a stand alone wedding band when I don't feel like wearing my ering. Think I'll go for it!!
Well here are some pics of ring with my band! (I've none of the love ring unfortunately, phone ran out of juice!)

I actually prefer the twisty band over the plain one - it adds a unique texture without overwhelming your E-ring.

I like the rope twist band. It adds a touch of elegance yet doesn't not take anything away from your gorgeous diamond.

I might be in the minority, but I like the plain band best.
