Which AVC would you buy?

I doubt the size difference would be noticeable especially once set in a halo. Is there one that appeals most to you?

I prefer the first, I color. It has the best faceting imo, the most red in the aset and no leakage in the centre like the G. The E has more darkness around the edges so will appear less bright I think. They're all excellent cut though so you can't really go wrong!

I'd get the 1.00 E VS2.

Of the three GOG stones you posted, I prefer the G, which is strange b/c symmetry is only *good* but somehow it works for me. If you can decide which color you prefer, or which stone your eyes prefer, that's the one to go for - performance-wise they are probably all quite similar.

(But frankly, if it were me, I'd jump on that H-VVS2 ERD stone FarmerGal posted - that's a beauty stone)

I think all three of the AVC's are very nice! I might just go with the largest since they are all pretty! If you think you might be color sensitive, then go for the G.

IMHO the size diffrerence will be so minimal to the eye- especially since you are putting it in a halo- I would go for the E or G. I might go for the G personally and put the extra money to the setting or my savings account.

I like the G since it's the most appealing to my eye.

Just curious- how does Good Old Gold's AVC compare to engagementringsdirect "A Cut Beyond" cushion cut diamond?

Both are vintage cuts it just depends on what your eyes prefer :wink2:

The photo of the I appeals to me the most, and I like that it has medium fluoro. That will help the stone appear whiter in natural lighting (and I am so color insensitive that I can't tell the difference anyway).

The G is most square, and seems to be the best balance of traits for the money. But honestly, only you can decide. The decision would be based only on your personal preferences and priorities.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I was leaning towards the I AVC but my girlfriend is color sensitive so, I was thinking of going towards the E. Should I be concerned that the ASET for the E does not have as much Red as the other 2?

The ERD diamond is beautiful! However, I know my girlfriend prefers the more square-ish shape and the corners may be too rounded?

I like the 1.04 G, I am not so keen on the contrast patterns of the others.

I personally thing he ERD one looks a little odd and not the typical AVC that we all know and love.

I vote for the E!

I'd get the biggest and least expensive, the 'I' color. Most bang for your buck.

yeah, me too. Especially if you are not super color sensitive.

I really like the ERD diamond.

I vote for the I.

I vote for the I also.

I definitely would not get E, the image doesn't look as nice to me and it's the most expensive and smallest. I think there is a big difference between a G and I color. If your girlfriend is color sensitive she will see the color in an I. I would get the G. It will look so pretty in a halo.

Thanks everyone for your reply!

I'm late to the game.. but I also vote for the "G".... very pretty!

The shape and facet pattern of the first one is my favorite. The 2nd is my 2nd, and the 3rd is my least favorite because I don't like the shape as well. There isn't much in the size of any of them, especially once set, so I'd get the one that appeals to you most.

I would choose the 1.71c cushion from ERD. Very nice stone...bigger stone for the money and H will look very white set in your ring.
The shape of the halo will make the stone look square especially if you set it East/West.

Check out this halo (second picture). Nice... love how the halo comes to a point in the corners....never seen another like it and it really makes the stone look more square.

Good luck.

I like the ERD stone.
