I can''t wait to see the finished ring! I think that the second looks like it matches the sidestones better.

Thanks Vesper!! It''s actually going to be a necklace with melee in between

here''s one pick with the melee --- this is the FVS2

here''s the melee with the FVVS1

They are both stunning, but I think I prefer the 2nd stone a tad better! I love the asscher sidestones too!!!

I like the second one as well!

Thanks kcoursolle and geckodani!

Do you guys think #2 is $1300 better than #1 ?

I think they both go equally well with them.
Which do you like better?

Oh my gosh! That is going to be gorgeous. I do prefer #2, but for 1300$ and for a necklace, the first one would be just fab as well :)

They are both so stunning...I like #2 just a wee bit more, though.

#2 matches better to my eye.

Thanks for your replies Karl, julesbeth, Diamond Dana and AprilBaby !

Brian at WF preferred #1 with the other two... so, I''m going with his recommendation (plus, the table is a little smaller, crown height a little higher and it''s slightly larger)

Personally, I like both the same, so I might as well save $1,300! (I bet it was the VVS1 that increased the price, which I feel is overkill for a necklace)

Hopefully will have the finished project soon. Thanks for everyone''s help!

a big "THANK YOU" to you Karl -- again, I would never embark on an asscher project without your advice. I really appreciate your help. Pics to come soon!

Your welcome,

I love the second option with the asscher sidestones....the VVS2 just pops! Gorgeous!

Man so hard to choose, but I go with everyone else.. the diamonds are just beautiful though!

# 2. Both are gorgeous.

I prefer the picture #2, I guess I choose the picture #2 for the center asscher is more square looks than picture#1''s asscher. About the price? I think the price is subjective, you should choose the one you love better, not the one price you like better

Thanks again carabella, iloveasshcers13, marcyc and kaori !

Again, both look great to me, and really they are not that large to tell a difference. These pics are much larger than the actual stones. Since it''s a necklace and not a ring, I''m good with the less expensive, larger stone. Plus, I''m sure I will be upgrading it in a year anyway!
2.gif
(if WF does upgrades on asschers... not sure?) Thanks again for everyones posts.

I like #1 better. Something about the shape is just a little nicer to me. The question is: IS the second one worth the extra cost? In person do they look THAT different? Once you bring it home would you even remember what the other one looked like? If it is not worth the extra cost to you and when you bring it home you don''t think it is going to be a visual difference. Then why not get get cheaper one?

I cannot wait to see this necklace! Gorgeous stones! All of them...I like #2 a tad better too, but that's only because the photo is blown up. Smart to save the 1,300 and go with #1--shrunk to life size, I don't think it matters--especially if you're upgrading soon anyway. They are beautiful!

Why buy now if you are upgrading soon? As a consumer you can't sell a diamond for what you paid for it. You will save money in the long run if you just hold off till you are ready to buy diamonds you intend to keep for a while. Even vendors with upgrade policies may require the new diamond cost more than you were planing on spending. Plus any tiny nick may disqualify the stone from being accepted back. Is there any guarantee in this economy that all vendors will stay in business?
I realize I'm playing the devil's advocate here, but these are risks I'd not take for a temporary purchase.

That said if I was picking, I'd go with the less expensive one. They are both beautiful!
Hope you post pics of the necklace. It will be gorgeous, I'm sure.

Thanks....

frillylace: I like #1 too. And if Brian at WF likes that best, I feel good about the choice

I really didn''t think the other stone (and it is smaller) was worth an additional $1,300 over the other...

coati: thanks for your post... I''m excited too...and will post pics when it''s complete. btw, how is school going? I get the GIA flyers in the mail and always think I should enroll online -- did you take the Diamond and Diamond grading class yet? So cool. Hope you are enjoying it.

moh: thanks for the advice, but again, the center stone is in a necklace, I''m sure (fingers crossed) it won''t get damaged. If I keep it awhile, I keep it... if I want to get bigger stones at least the option is there when I''m ready. Plus, I''m kind of on a tight timeline as this is a bday present and it''s been in the works for 6 months...

Thanks again everyone!

This is going to be some birthday present! I can''t wait to see it
