We have finally decided on a stone, and we are trying to now find a setting. Any recommendations? (Likely, we''ll be looking for a fairly simple solitaire. Thanks!

There''s plenty of simple settings. Any jeweller (local included) can get the standard Stuller or Adwar solitaire settings. If you are looking for a really great Tiffany clone, I''d go with Supebcert''s (Excel) tiffany setting. The Whiteflash tiffany replica comes in a close 2nd.

Whiteflash has a nice one look here http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/1.htm
go up to Resources and there is a list of vendors and you can browse there too

There’s a pretty good incentive to buy your setting, as well as the labor to set the stone, from the same place. If you can arrange it, you’re best to buy from the same store where you bought your diamond. This helps to eliminate fingerpointing in the case of a problem. If a stone is chipped, for example, there is no question of who chipped it and when because it simply doesn’t matter – all roads lead to the same conclusion. This can lead to some nasty battles when it’s done by 2 or 3 different providers and they want to hold someone else responsible. Many of the major manufacturers of mountings are very widely available to jewelers and if you choose a particular one just show a picture or a link to it to the people you’ve decided to work with and they should be able to fix you up.

Now adays the internet has a vast selection. Didnt have that in my days.

Best of luck in your search.

I''d try to get the setting from where you bought the stone. If that''s not an option, this is my favorite solitaire setting for a round or (especially) princess:
