I know, very specific! I''m trying to source a tiffany 4 prong solitare ring to mount a cushion diamond to...preferably in platinum. But the problem is most of the ones i''ve come across are 2.5mm-3mm wide or more...can anyone point me in the direction of where to find something in 2mm (or less)?

My GF''s hands are small, size 4, so she likes smaller bands. Would a 2mm band be alright for a stone in the 1.0-1.3ct range?

Thanks

Here''s one that comes close

A 2mm band makes for a dainty ring. If the setting you find is close, the jeweler who will set the diamond can polish the band down while the thickness remains unchanged to provide strength. The one above would be easily brought from 2.5mm to 2mm.

Also, knife edge bands look thinner without becoming fragile, if the style is ok with you.

Thanks for the link. I thought about the knife edge, but they all seem to rise as the band reaches the diamond, I think they call it a cathedral or something like that. I''m just looking for a round band with a mounting on it.

So you think that 2mm might be too thin then?

Thanks

No, but I would not make it any thinner than that.

How about 6 prongs on this 2mm band

Thanks very much for the feedback. I am waiting to hear back from the vendor i''m looking to purchase a diamond from, hopefully they have something ''off the shelf'' since what i''m looking for is very simple. I seem to recall cushionsearcher on here having a 2mm band what had a diamond pave in it, so I figure if that is doable, a solid platinum band must be at least as strong...and the stone size is almost the same....

Thanks!
