I noticed today that my shared prong eternity wedding band is starting to really scratch up the basket on my e-ring and would like to buy a 1mm platinum spacer strictly to wear in between the two rings. I should have bought one when I bought the wedding band, but I wasn''t sure if it would be an issue since I planned to wear the wedding band on its own 90% of the time.

Finding a 1mm spacer is no easy task, no doubt because a 1mm platinum ring would easily bend. Does anybody know where I can find one?

BUMP

Did you ever find a 1mm band? As much as I like to try and ignore the same problem, the truth is I need to do the same thing. :) I have a 2mm plain band but it''s just too thick to go inbetween IMO.

I got my original yellow gold wedding band from Kay''s Jewelers (yes, I know), and it''s 1-1.5 mm ish. I wasn''t shopping for a specific width, just something delicate (and cheap, we got married the day after graduating from college), and it''s definitely less than the width of my 2.5 mm e-ring band. It would be a great spacer, but I rarely wear YG anymore. Anyway, it was about $70 for YG years and years ago, it might be worth asking if they have anything. I''ve only seen 2 mm on the internet.

Nope, although I did go to a jeweller who said he''d make one for me. I decided that I wanted a sapphire or sapphire/diamond, very thin, very low-profile eternity ring between my eternity band and e-ring and currently have a fake QVC band that I''m wearing in between to see if I like it (before I buy a real one). So far it hasn''t had any effect at all on my e-ring, so it''s serving as my spacer until I make a decision.

Finding somebody to make a 1mm band didn''t seem to be a problem at all, I just wasn''t sure if it would be difficult.

If you buy a toe ring, they come in 1mm very often, and they are available in white gold, maybe not platinum tho. The only problem is that they usually come in smaller sizes like 5 and under but Im on a mission to find a 6.25 for myself so if i find one i will let you all know. :-)

Good thinking, Nani!

I ended up buying a thin (2mm) estate sapphire eternity band that was channel set in platinum instead of a plain spacer. It sits really low--below the prongs in my half eternity and since it''s channel there are no stones rubbing against the platinum. So far it''s working like a charm! Good luck with the search!
