Hi all. Not sure if I should post here or in rockytalky.

I have come into possession of a diamond and platinum Tiffany men's pocket watch. According to the watch specialist at the Tiffany flagship store, this is likely from the 1930s-1940s and appears to be a custom made (and therefore one of a kind) piece.
No one in my family uses a pocket watch.
Where would be the best place to consign or sell such a special piece? There is no need for an urgent sale; we would prefer to maximize return rather than sell quickly.
Thank you.

I would guess, that the best place for something like that would be somewhere like Sotheby's and for auction. I would make an appointment with them and have them look at it.

Thank you. An auction house is definitely a possibility. I was also thinking there may be specialty shops/sites that would deal with such vintage things, but I am not sure how to go about finding one.

How about browsing vintage pocket watches on 1stdibs and see who the vendors are?

Thank you, that's a good idea!
