Hi,
I''m currently looking to purchase a three stone setting, the setting only. I already have the diamonds & plan to have a local jeweler set them in. Does anyone know which of the online vendors are willing to sell their three stone settings only, without the diamonds?

Thanks,
Rosy

So... how would you know the setting fits ?

The jeweler who will set the ring can easily source a ready-made setting of a catalog (adwar, stuller, ingwer... others) if the stones you have happen to fit a calibrated size.

I have a 2 carat & (2) 1 carat round stones for the sides. Could I order the setting based on this?

Oh well, those are quite a bit larger than standard settings are meant to accomodate.

For the two ready to wear versions I remember of (Vatche and Ingver), the sies are too big - one setting holds 50 point sides fr 2 carat center, the other 65 point sides...

Honestly, off the rack settings are not the nicest - even if someone came up with a that size, and the cost of having a settng custom made for those stones not the end of the world. Just IMO, of course.

I agree with ana about maybe trying to go custom. Noobie had a 3 stone ring made and it was 1/2 the price of the premade Vatche. here''s the link

I have an idea ... how about supporting your local jeweler by shopping and buying locally. If you want good service, and the convenience of having a local jeweler, you should consider supporting their business by buying products from them. When you purchase from Internet suppliers your money leaves the local economy, if you are not reporting the use taxes from your on line purchases you are cheating your state and city from much needed revenue which means we all pay more in taxes because of the people cheating and not paying their required use taxes.

If you know what kind of ring you are looking for give your local jeweler the chance of winning your business. It might be more or less expensive than what you find from an Internet vendor but there are lots of other benefits of buying from your local jeweler who wants and needs your business.
