Joe Escobar has tons of designer and non designer settings...they are in Campbell. I love going there to try things on.
Toppers in Burlinggame does a great job of custom...they have done a few PS''er rings. I have never visited so don''t know what the store is like.
Willow Glen Jewelers on Lincoln has a consignment side with antique jewelry and the other side is more designer settings...both are great to visit...they also are great with service.
Bailey Banks and Biddle in Valley Fair also carries a lot of designer settings, my friend just got a Ritani set from them for her e-ring and w-ring. They carry Ritani, Tacori and also Vera Wang.
Also I have never been there but I think Derco in Santana Row also carries designer items.
Some San Francisco recommendations: I''ve heard good things about Giraux at the GiftCenter in SF. Derco at the GiftCenter is hit-or-miss for custom work, but they do have a big selection of stock settings. They did my custom wedding band and I''ve always been happy with it. Up in the Marina area: Union Street Goldsmiths has a beautiful selection -- almost all their stuff is custom-made by their own benchmen, although they are pricey. David Clay Jewelers in SF has a nice selection and good in-house benchmen. If I think if anyone else I''ll let you know.
I''ve also heard that Jade Galore in Milpitas (or is it Cupertino? not sure) is quite good.
Thanks so much to everyone! I am on a mission now that I have to get a new e-ring in less than 3 months-wedding is at the end of Sept. I really want a Leon Mege, but I don''t know if I have enough time, plus there is no way I could go over there in the next 3 months. I am probably buying my ring from WF, does anyone have info on their settings?
I guess I just want to know whether or not their settings are worth going with, or if I should try somewhere local. I LOVE the look of Leon Mege, so I am hoping to get something like that, but didn''t really see anything on the WF sight that was similar. I might try Joe Escobar, I''ve heard a lot about them. P.S. I love your ring, very beautiful!
honestly i don''t know of many jewelers who can get that same kind of delicate look just spot on like Leon Mege can...those tiny finger claw prongs and all that..WF has done some very delicate bead set or pave pieces but if you adore that LM look with all the bells and whistles...don''t know too many and esp no one local that could pull it off.
wf made my w-ring to match my e-ring and they do a great job with custom and settings but LM is pretty unique IMO!
