Did you look at simply sapphires. I know they sell in bunches. They often have some nice blue ones, the only issue is that they can be on the dark side
Threadjack...
Your photographer is booked the weekend of my wedding, but she seemed very nice
I just emailed John at Simply Sapphires! Great minds.
As for Becky, she''s a sweetheart and knows a lot of photographers. My second choice, hands down, would have been Gene Higa. He''s amazing. http://www.genehiga.com/
A number of the same firms who sell settings also sell colored stones and diamonds at competitive prices, among them Stuller and Roseco. Stuller has moved into this in a really big way over the last few years and isn''t too badly priced. In adddition many of the suppliers of larger sapphire also offer melee at reasonable costs. What this means is that any jeweler can have this sort of melee in hand for you tomorrow. If you have whoever gets the melee, do the work of providing the setting and setting the stones, you can often wrangle better prices on the whole package. Stullers list on 2.5mm natural round blue in their top grade is a bit over $90 each, with prices dropping a lot as you go to lower grades. These list prices are often discounted by a huge amount if you have an expensive setting to be made by the same provider. As for green or gray, well these are generally the cross axis colors in lower grades of sapphires and in melee are very hard to see, except in the lowest grades, since these colors are much less saturated and are overwhelmed by the more intense blues used for melee.
