Where to buy - Israel or Antwerp?

I have an opportunity to choose where to by a diamond for a wedding ring – in Israel or in Antwerp. Where do you think will I find a better deal: price/quality? Thanks.

It’s almost always easier to deal with merchants on your home turf because of familiarity with you home laws, currencies, etc. There are plenty of fine dealers in Israel and I would encourage you to buy there rather than overseas. Naturally you should use good shopping skills because it’s not an Israeli address that makes them good, it’s the character of the merchant. The difference is pricing is nominal between the various countries. FedEx has done a great deal to even these things out.

Are you traveling to Israel and Antwerp both? Or is it a choice of destinations?

If just one destination I like Neil's advice.

Sorry for the late response. I’m an Israeli resident, but currently I live in Amsterdam, so both Antwerp and Amsterdam are possible places for the purchase.
