Where should I ship my diamond?

Need some helpful advice here.

I am about to take the plunge and purchase a diamond online. The problem is I don''t know where to ship it to. My girlfriend is at home most of the day while i am at work. I don''t want the fedex guy delivering the diamond to her.

I''ve thought about getting it shipped to an appraiser in my area and having them check it out and then picking it up from him later.
Do you think that is a decent idea?

Anyone else had the same problem and come up with a good solution???

Yap, shipping to the appraiser is common. Another way is to just ship it to the local Fedex facility and you go pick it up.

Yup, if you have an appraiser lined up, that would be a good choice. I normally have it shipped and held at the Fedex station where I can pick it up at lunch time.

Have it held for pickup. Often for items of a certain value you have to go pick it up-they won''t deliver to your house anyway.
