I have the diamond and will be receiving my setting within a few days. Where is the best place to look for someone or company to reset this stone for me. Should I go locally, or online? Are there both options? How much does something like this typically run. I''m kind of clueless about all of this.

Thanks Everyone!

Hi akji

If you give us an idea of your location, someone might know of a good company you could use. Stores that have a bench jeweller on staff might be able to set your stone for you, Bear in mind that should something happen to the stone whilst setting such as breakage, then normally the setter won''t assume liability so see if you can insure against this or ask if the setter will cover the stone. This is usual as many jewellers won''t cover stones they didn''t sell. Setting fees can vary, it isn''t normally hugely expensive, I have heard an online company will set for around $125, but ask around and remember the cheapest price isn''t always the best!

Hi akjijioeh,
Sometimes the people who sold you the ring can take care of setting the diamond.
Since they sold you the ring they may give you a break on the cost of setting your stone.

Thank you! I''ll look around my area (27616) to see if anyone is qualified to do this. Let me know if anyone has any recommendations.
