There seem to be thousands of options. Dont know where to go or who to trust!! I want to have a 3 stone ring made in 14k white gold, only a little bit of diamond work in the design. I am really hoping to get a decent deal and I see a lot of these wholesale websites promote that they will make your custom piece for wholesale prices but it almost sounds too good, kwim?

Can anyone give me some guidance?

If you arent looking to pay for hand forged i would go with Brian gavin, whiteflash, or Engagement Rings Direct. Being that i love the claw prong work and the customer service there, my vote would be ERD

I have to say, I dont know what hand forged is exactly, or what the other option is- but it sounds more expensive! I will check ERD, thanks!

What I am doing is creating a 3 stone with a halo on the centerstone only. The halo has a diamond U-shape on the underside, which i think would be the most intricate part of the design. On a plain band with no diamondwork. Does that sound like something that would require hand forging?

no i think they could do it for you just beautifully. Hand forged just means all done by hand verses using and CAD system to cast the setting. They do really lovely work and i think they could do that for you very well.

I was just saying it sounds like you want to avoid hand forged because it will be notably more expensive
sounds like it will be a lovely ring. what color metal??

Thanks! I am using 14k white gold to match my existing wedding band. These are the two rings that I am basically trying to combine!

My fear is that I will not like the halo, because I am particular... I want it to be very fine, very delicate, very little metal showing...

Then definitely check with Victor Canera. He's more expensive than some of the other sites but if you're particular about the quality, then pay the extra money for a true craftsman. You won't be sorry!

ok i agree hand forged is on its own tier, but personally I find it hard to recommend when someones says they are on a budget. Ive seen where just a simple plain shank halo the price is 2k for a ERD vs 4k for hand forged. A lot of money if you have a budget, and i do think ERD makes very nice things.

here are some examples of there work, its really lovely

I am so glad to have you all as a resource! I have been looking at all you've suggested and I am so excited to see how in-depth the design process can be!!! #controlfreak

I have a friend who suggested itshot.com after she got engaged.... anyone have any thoughts about that?
