Where is the DNC?

Can you help me find the DNC’s presence? Am I looking in all of the wrong places? We have an election in a year and I see nothing. I feel like they are banking on the same failed strategy that lost us the last election, the “we’re not Trump” strategy.

I was really hoping to see a very strong presence. I was hoping to see a lot of campaigning. I was hoping to see the DNC make a concerted effort to get the milennials to vote in this midterm election.

Also, is it naive of me to think that it would be a good strategy to swoop into the middle of the Bannon/McConnell feud and try to take those seats since the votes will be split?

Where are these people? Maybe I wouldn’t feel so afraid if I felt that the DNC had a clear plan of attack?

I believe they are actively searching for retirement homes in FL and the fountain of youth. The party is OLD. (I can say this because I am 64). Please Please retire Diane Feinstein, you are a lovely, kind and very good leader but even I want to see some vim and vigor in the democratic party. Jeez Louise Kamala Harris is like 52.. while I don't consider her young, I don't consider her 64 either. Pelosi is 77!.

I don't hold out much hope for anything good in 18 - sadly.

Let's go on record: list the candidates you would like to run for open seats in the 2018 elections. And why not provide your strategy to win these seats as well.

I will admit that I don't know the up and comers well enough to suggest anyone, so am open to the DNC's choice.

She is the Dems party's thorn in the butt.

They can not recover from the shock of 2016. We need an alternative to them. An Independent committee, or something like it.

And we just need new faces and names.

You do realize that an “alternative” will split the Democrat vote and will ensure that the Republicans (whether in the form of Bannon “populist” or GOP establishment) will win. Talk about not learning anything from the past (see Al Gore and Ralph Nader. Heck look at what happened with Bernie Sanders voters). There cannot be an alternative — the transition to the new must be complete, if there is to be a transition.

I’m agnostic about the situation. I vote based on platform and how likely they can be implemented. I may be a pie-in-sky idealist with policies, but I’m very much a realist when it comes to politics — and I balance the two when I vote. Hence I did not vote for Bernie — his policies would have been mired in politics as deep as Trump’s currently are — and nothing would have been accomplished (probably similar to the way that Bernie hadn’t had much legislative accomplishments during his years in office).

I suspect you just saw the headlines that looked bad for Clinton and Democrats, but didn’t read the article

But in any case, BOTH Sanders and Clinton campaigns signed the same fundraising agreement with the DNC. The difference is that the Clinton campaign actually raised money for the DNC and Sanders did not. Hence the agreement between the HRC campaign and the DNC applied. Had Sanders actually given money to the DNC, he would have had the same say on the money as Clinton. But Sanders made the calculation that he’s better able to criticize the DNC (about not supporting him) if he’s not helping fund it (is there any wonder why the DNC supported Clinton more — a fact not in dispute). Copies of the agreement with BOTH sides as well as Clinton and Sanders campaign officers give support to the view that Donna Brazile is shit-stirring to sell books, which is unfortunate for the party and its candidates.

The Deomcratic party needs to quit focusing all their attention on bashing Trump and take a stand and focus on what they are going to do to move the country forward. Everyone knows we have an awful human being running the country. Trump shows the world daily he is not an intelligent person. The 30 percent who like Trump are not going to change their mind not matter what democrats do. We need a candidate who is not extreme left and wants to work on unitIng the country.

I feel like you @Tekate A women named Hala Ayala was interviewed on CNN. She is running in Virginia. She basically said that Trump has motivated her to get involved in politics. She said she could no longer sit back and watch the changes that we are seeing in this country. I've heard the number of women running for local offices has increased this year. That makes me hopeful. We need younger women getting involved.

I wish young women could live one day working for a large corporation in the 70's.

"History repeats itself three times, once as a tragedy, and twice, for dummies", this saying of a Russian satirist made my day.

I started reading into the history of the Russian revolution of 1917. What shocked me was how many good, honest, and pretty wealthy people were liberal and how poorly they understood the needs of the people they were standing for. They would donate money to the revolutionaries. They never spoke to own workers.

I see the same tendency here. This is my main commentary about the DNC.
