Where do you put your rings after taking them off?

For those who don't wear their rings 24/7, where do you put them when you take them off?

In a jewelry box?
On the kitchen counter?
On a ring holder?
On your bedside table?

Do you have a specific place in each room (kitchen, bedroom, etc.), or do you just make a note of where you've put them each time?

(I searched for a similar thread and couldn't find it, even though I know there must be a few.)

SIL got me a jewelry box for Christmas a few years ago, so that''s where I keep everything. I do leave my wband on 24/7, but I put my ering away in the box for the night or when I''m not wearing it.

In the ringbox it was given to me in...usually on a table in the bedroom. Lately DD (21 mos) has been trying to get her hands on it and says "ring! ring!''. Uh oh.

elrohwen and janine- If you remove them to prepare food/garden, etc., do you put them in the box in your bedroom?

I can be scatterbrained, so I'm trying to think of a solution for the bedroom and the kitchen, the two places I remove rings (for sleep and food prep). I was thinking of two small ring dishes, one in each room, so nothing's misplaced. However, it makes me nervous to put diamonds down on something hard, even though diamonds/platinum are obviously MUCH harder than ceramic. But they're so CUTE! Could they be scratched this way, with repeated contact?

(I feel so silly asking this question, but I want to be sure before purchasing.)

I put the ring, watch & necklace I wear most days in a small wooden box in the kitchen my SO brought back from Italy... If I don''t put them in there, I have NO idea where they are. Even if it takes me a few extra seconds to go put them away, at least I''ll know they''ll be there when I''m frantically looking for them the next morning : )

Nope, it I take my rings off for cooking or something, I just set them wherever I am. In the kitchen I put them on the little half wall thing between dining room and kitchen. In the bathroom I just set them on the counter.

eta: I think a ceramic ring box would be a great idea and I don't think there's any way it would damage your rings. My house is small, so I'm unlikely to lose my rings. Even if I forget to put them back on immediately, I'll know where they are when I do remember.

I am really horrible with my ring

When I come home, it almost immediately gets taken off and put on top of the entertainment unit.

If I get distracted with something, then it''ll be placed on the kitchen counter if I''m preparing dinner; bathroom counter if I use the restroom; or S''s dresser before she goes to bed (which is rare, I usually take it off immediately). If by some crazy chance I make it all the way to bedtime with my ring on, then I''ll put it in its box.

But then I won''t wear it for 3 or 4 days because it''s not in my line of sight and I forget about it

I stick mine in a decorative glass bowl in the living room as I''m walking in door.
I sometimes wonder if the rings or earrings I put there will scratch eachother.

Oh in that case I do take it off and leave it on the counter. Kind of risky, but too lazy to go up and put in the box. I actuallly wear my e-ring less and less (leave it in the box) and keep the wedding ring on which I can wear while preparing food, etc without too much issue. I tend to wear the e-ring for special occassions, going out, wkends etc. so maybe this doesn''t come up as much for me.

I''m awful when it comes to this...

My rings usually end up in the silverware drawer or on top of our mini wine cellar if I''m in the kitchen. If I''m in the bathroom, somewhere on the counter or in a drawer. If I''m in the bedroom, on top of my jewelry box or somewhere else on the dresser.

I''ll be checking in on this thread to see if anyone has any other ideas. I like the idea of a ceramic dish, but I fear my kitties will make a play-thing out of it and paw at my rings in order to scoop ''em out. They''ve been known to bat my rings around if I leave them out in the open, which is why drawer-placing has become quite common in my house. It drives DH insane...

I generally wear my rings 24/7. If I take them off, it''s only briefly for a purpose and usually right near me because I''ll soon put them back on. If I were to routinely take them off, I would put them in the same place every time, just like I do with my keys. But I would never, ever leave my rings near a sink or any other kind of plumbing (tub, shower, counter near a toilet, etc.).

I never wear my rings at home. BC (before children) I would take them off and leave them in random places. After searching for them on numerous occasions, I''ve trained myself to ONLY leave them in my jewelry armoire.

I take off all my rings except for my w-ring when I walk in the door. They used to go in the ring box they came in, but now I have a cute little jewelry box I put them in instead.

I always put mine on a ring holder we bought on our honeymoon. I keep it on my bedside table. Even if it takes a few extra seconds to run in there before I start cooking, I put them there. It is worth it not to have those moments of panicking about where I put my rings!

I wear mine pretty much 24/7.

For heavy cleaning or sticky cooking (something that will gum them up and not just come off easily with cleaning or potentially cause damage) I do take them off.

They ALWAYS go onto the same crystal plate in the china cabinet (with the doors closed).

I''d be terrified of them falling into the sink or toilet or having one of the cats walk off with them. (Lilly likes to get on places she shouldn''t be and I''ve seen her walking through the house proudly carrying all sorts of stuff -- including a screw driver)

SO cute! I''m seriously thinking of ordering a couple ..

I have a jewelery box that my husband bought me last year for my birthday - that''s where my ring goes, when I take it off.

The only time I take off my rings is when I sleep and shower. When I sleep they go inside a large candle on my nightstand (the indentationin the center of the candle where the wick is). I take my rings off before I shower so my rings can have their "bath" in some jewelry cleaner, they are then scrubbed, and rinsed and set in the bathroom counter in the plastic basket that comes with the jewelry cleaner until I get out fo the shower.

I bathe my rings everyday....is that normal?

Aren''t they? I just bought a custom dish from another seller who''s closing her shop tomorrow, so I''m glad I got my order in time! I may purchase the turtle bowl from the seller I linked to for the kitchen. The proceeds go to a Sea Turtle Rescue Hospital.

By 'real world' standards, you're a complete freak.

By PriceScope standards, you're perfectly normal

If I take my rings off during the day I put the on a shelf in the kitchen.
I''ve been using that little shelf since we moved inth the house.

If I take them off at night they go right into my ringbox.

Jewelry box! And I pretty much never wear them when I am at home. First thing off and last thing on

In a small Umbra jewelry box on the table beside the bed. My everyday pearls and diamond studs are in this box as well. My main jewelry box is much to big a pain to take in and out everyday.

Wow...I can''t believe she''s selling each for 12$. I need to start my own pottery business too!!!! I can make more than 20 of those in a day!

I take my rings off and put them in my jewelry box as soon as I get home every day, along with the rest of whatever jewelry I wore that way. I change out of whatever I wore to work, too, so I usually just do both things at the same time. I don''t like wearing any jewelry around the house for some reason.

I get home, walk the dog go upstairs to change my clothes and all of my jewelry comes off and goes into my jewelry box. My fingers swell at night so I don''t sleep with them on and it''s just easier to remember to do it when I''m standing in front of my dresser getting undressed.

I wear mine pretty much 24/7 but when I''m not wearing them, I have a small jewelry box that WF gifted me over a shipping mishap (not their standard ring box) in the kitchen and another jewelry box upstairs. I have to have a specfic location or else I would lose them! Same with my keys, my bags, etc.

I bought these polish pottery dishes from QVC link here

I have one in my kitchen that I put my rings in as soon as I come home! And I gave the other one away as a gift. If I make it to my bedroom without taking my rings off then I put them in my jewelry box, but they are usually in my polish pottery dishes!

I have a ring dish from etsy that we used for our ring bearer to carry the rings at our wedding. that is in the livingroom and where my rings, earrings, and necklace stay when I am not wearing them.

Occassionally I also put my ring on a little handmade blue glass fleu de lis from New Orleans that is on my bedside table, but that''s only if I forgot to take my ring off before I came to bed. usually it is off first thing when I walk in the door:-)

When I walk in the door, I immediately take it all off- rings, watch, earrings. My rings and watch go on a ring holder beside my bed. Sometimes I leave my band on only, but rarely.

I lose jewelry all the time, so this is the only way I can be sure not to lose it.

Right into their box. Can''t leave them lying around with curious cats everywhere..
